Alright, I'm still going to stick to Masamune for its entirety, but I might make this my next project.

You take a game like Ragnarok Online (http://iro.ragnarokonline.com/), and you put them in a Dawn of the Dead-esque world. The camera stays the way it is in RO, but you add a bunch of sprites to it, like undead zombies (yes, I know, same damn thing) roaming the world trying to attack you. You get to choose from all the classes just like in RO with the skills and such to go along with them. You also choose between an archangel and a heaven angel, where you can lead the humans to safety and help them fight back the zombies (heaven angel) or lead the zombies on a murderous rampage to kill all of the humans (archangel). Basically, all you do for the undead people will make them a dark side of their original selves. Instead of the regular sounds and reactions, you also get fountains of blood that spray from the sprites. They also show damage, with blood on their clothes and holding onto their limbs as they experience damage. You would fight on different urban, rural, and natural lands to fight over control over the world as the Earth has gone through anarchy when the zombies awaken from their slumber to attack the world, taking out the world's top leaders or whatever.

So, what do you guys think? If it sounds good enough, I might just make this a side project to work on in the future. Of course, don't say Diablo II, cause at the moment, I can hardly say that they have any modding community, and I don't even know if you can mod it. lol

EDIT: I know the name Heaven Angel sounds kind of crappy, but bear with me: I can always come up with a 10x greater name. Also, it'd be multiplayer, where the leader would the the angel. They won't be able to do any hand-to-hand fighting, but they could cast spells to help out their acolytes and attack the enemy from afar. They'd also have these kickass-looking wings on their backs like real angels ;)

EDIT: Oh, by the way, here's a picture of my character for those interested in RO and/or this mod:

I don’t know... from the sounds of it, it seems bland and the game play could easily get repetitive.

I’ve always disliked Ragnarok Online because you have to pay. And it’s definitely not the best MMORPG I’ve played.

Well, you get a 15 day trial. And I am able to play it with absolutely no cost through free servers.

What I'm saying is, I would add a lot more to the gameplay. The characters might be turned from just sprites into full-sized people. What I'm just taking are the skills and weapons and items and whatever. The game would be an RPG, where you'd build your stats and skills until you can become the leader of the legions.

Besides, instead of going to the enemies, they'd be coming to you. ;)

Crap, another double post. Anyhoo...

It would be a regular MMORPG. It'd be action-style, kind of like Max Payne style. Maybe I'll have to use Diablo II, if someone would be kind enough to show me a site with tutorials on how to mod that engine, since I do own it....

But anyway, anyone ever play Ragnarok Online? I think it's a really fun and addictive game.
