hello, i have a little probelm with compiling a qc file to make an mdl file. im using the tools givin to be in the sdk (studiomdl.) When in command prompt i type in
"studiomdl tpfman.qc" it starts compiling all the smd files, but when it get to the dm_face (the bmp texture that i changed from the gman) it gives me the error:
"invalid BMP file header
********ERROR*********
error -3000 reading BMP image '.\/dm_face.bmp'"
Since the bmp skin is the only thing i actually changed, i decided to try it with the original skin and it compiled fine. The skin that i made is practically the same, but with nicer eyes. and all the properties are the same too.

Please help me

do you have the same number of colours etc. since this can often be an overlooked problem

I agree with jackson there, Quake has a very small pallet, assuming you are using the normal engine.

This isn't about Quake, its about Half-Life. Half-Life can accept any 256 color pallete, so simply reduce the number of colors of the BMP to 256.

It certainly isn't Quake, as any good compiler won't give you errors when compiling on an externam file ;)!
