Quite extensive experience, just looking for a hobby project at the moment to fill void/boredom.

I would prefer to just find an artist / couple of artists to team up with rather than join a project mid-development.

Have an 'engine' that i've been working on, features as follows;

  • Splash/loading screen
  • OpenGL 3.0
  • Audio using OpenAL, streaming oggvorbis / raw wave
  • Network Client/Server system built on top of e-net's minimalist UDP reliable/unreliable layer
  • Scripted UI - using Squirrel
  • Scripted Game code, seamlessly integrated script components with native C++ components for object construction/interaction. Using squirrel again
  • Simple very lightweight script language for render flyweights / materials / vertex & pixel shaders
  • Geometry Instancing using uniform buffers
  • Bloom / HDR rendering
  • Per-pixel lighting, lighting system is no where complete still no shadows..
  • Terrain editing tool using mfc, limited operation at the moment with raise/lower/smooth - place objects / rotate / scale. Save/load terrains.
  • Archive/asset system for game data - using zip files renamed with a .asset extension. Uses zlib
  • Support for jpeg/png/tga/dds.
  • Hardware skeletal animation supporting blending and SLERP'ing
They may seem a bit all over the place, but i just wrote them down as I could think of them. There is a lot more to the render system but I could go on for quite a while.. My game 'engine' is not really set to any specific genre, I feel it's at the point where I choose it to become an fps/rts/tbs etc. I'm not fussed about specifics at the moment, would like to find someone interested and getting something started, then fleshing it out.

If you are interested shoot me a message, I can send you screen shots and possibly a small demo ( stripped of most assets, as the development folder is quite large ).

Would prefer artists or any that can offer something tangible to a project/game, rather than just 'idea' guys, no offense!

EDIT: removed various links to libraries used in my software. Won't let me :(

Im interested in seeing/hearing more about your engine. How long did it take you to get this far?

Hello there LGSS. There's a mod for Half-Life 2 called "Jurassic Life", been in development for about 4-5 years now. They are currently in need of some programming assistance. They already have some programmers on their team I believe, so that would be perfect for you! If you're interested in applying, register in the forum and post in the "recruitment" section. Best of luck!

LGSS you interested in helping out on a Unity engine RTS project?

I forgot to mention that it uses Nvidia's PhysX for physics. Currently has terrain collision, actor/entity roaming and collision.

@jimmy: Unfortunately i'm not looking to join a mod, i did work on mods way back in the day '96 - '00 Quake2/Quake3

@ServoIS: Your RTS project sounds interesting, but i would rather not use an existing engine, despite the benefits. I want the freedom to implement new features as the hardware arrives rather than wait for patches etc. Would also like to continue developing my engine.
