Preview images & Palette Thread

If I post a paletted image (png) in the image gallery... the preview image doesn't use the palette, and becomes larger file size than the original image.

Example: Preview image at 620x620.. 519 KB. Original image at 768x768.. 251 KB. With the palette, the preview image would be just 197 KB.

Would be more effective to keep the palette in the preview, or save the previews as jpg.

Hey Jimmi, What export options you using to save the .png?
I think its because its being converted and increasing the amount of colors.
Try uploading as .jpg or .gif and select the closest pallet.

I've used my own palette in the png. The save settings have been interlaced and non optimized palette. Optimized palette screws up the palette order.

When I have images that use paletted textures.. jpg feels kind of bad for them, so I've used png. I'll try gif next time.
