I need to know what is the BEST 3d modeler to make games? |

3d modelers make games now? Blender, which is a 3d modeler, also makes games, and it's my favorite. It's free, and it shows there's no need to warez-up 3dsmax6 which is popular among many many here.... - Edited By CheapAlert On Sat 26th, Jun 2004 @ 5:21:43pm -- < insert subject games here >

I know about all games use 3d Studio max. With the ease of making plugins for it, and for the best editor layout. |

3dsmax isn't affordable, bub. It's quite buggy too, especially from a company promising quality. - Edited By CheapAlert On Sat 26th, Jun 2004 @ 6:16:55pm -- < insert subject games here >

I thought it was about who is the best 3d modeler in the world... I'll say everyone should give a try to Quake Modeller. |

3d Max has less bugs than blender though. Same goes with milkshape. To me, I never ran into a bug in 3dmax. |

I have. When I was working on a complex model of 50k polys the program crash and wiped out the Program Files folder. |
||
|
Jun 26 2004 Anchor | |
That's.....friggin. bull crap. I work with high poly all the time, dunno what your problem is Or did you KAZAA blender up, because kazaa is so untrustful? HRM. Blender is opensource, you won't see a "LETS WIPE PROGRAM FILES" function. That's like, the saddest excuse of using open source programs i've ever seen. - Edited By CheapAlert On Sat 26th, Jun 2004 @ 8:33:57pm -- < insert subject games here >

Don't ask me. It might be the computer for all I know. maybe a virus I got. Also I don't trust KAZAA either. - Edited By ubersoldat On Sat 26th, Jun 2004 @ 8:40:39pm |

i dont like blender's interface. just buy milkshape online. done and done. |

I believe that you can configure the gui in blender the way you like it. Go blender and ms3d! |
||
Jun 26 2004 Anchor | ||
Actually go MS3D. That was the first modeling utility to use. And its the easiest to use if you want to model for games. |

Milkshape? Easy? Somehow those words can't mix up. It's a nightmare -- < insert subject games here >

Then why is Milkshape used more than Blender. Its because its easier, cuz it has plugins related to the most modded games. |
||
Jun 26 2004 Anchor | ||
its very easy. it has a 4 window nice interface. blender. although i hear it gets easier when you learn it. has a weird interface that i dont feel i should have to bother with. milkshape supports more, has good community and help on forums, plus i dont have to bullshit my way to learn it because it looks like every other nice 3d model/map utility. |

id say blender no its free, but yet a very powerfull engine.. It has i one of the hardest user interfaces ( i think) But it looks very promissing.. |

3D studio Max. Thats what we use. Many Game companies Use 3dmax. -- i like biscuits |

Milkshape is the best tool for modders who don't want to warez 3dsmax. Why spend tons of money to make none? :/ |
||
|
Jun 27 2004 Anchor | |
Well my copy of 3dmax 6 is a legal copy that I got through work, and I make money using it But yes, Milkshape is probably the best free game modeling software just because its real easy to use, unlike blender and other free packages. -- i like biscuits |
