Okay, whats this Gargoyle thing everyone's so taken with? I see it popping up everywhere: Topics, avatars, mods, everywhere. What is it exactly? If someone could enlighten please...

BECAUSE they're underrated, they're better than dragons and demons (typical mascots for game/mod sites) and they pwn, 'nuff said.

Hey Scotteh (INtense!) likes em too so if you got someone to blame for all this, blame Scott and I.

Also I drew each garg avs except mine I drew the gargoyles in the modDB store as well!

Gargoyles are starting to appear in more stuff now, check out that Radeon9800 box.

As for the Wacking Stick™ Bastage™ and Gooch™, that's a totally different story.....

Dragons:
- too big
- scaley
- evil (most of the time)
- damn ugly
- only one mind sequence (sleep, burninate, sleep, burninate)

Demons:
- evil
- evil
- sick
- just only red, ugh, how monotonous is that
- only fire too
- evil
- evil
- did i mention evil?

Gargoyles:
- Evil if posessed by evil
- wang
- sociality AH COME ON why did lord british pick one as an advisor for U7 then
- can get stoned (hurray for 40oz)
- has huge wings
- cute (no matter how sadistic...)
- is a terrific athlete
- wings make warmth and comfortabitlitiy
- has a brain for once
- their chicks are real (Dragons have none and demons have dragqueen succubi which look like chicks but really are men)

Dude, i have no god damn clue. I chose to be different and BEHOLD TEH SEXY BEAM but thats jsut me. ehm.. no gargoil as my avatar.. and surly no gargoil as my banners.. heh... But honestly i just think people like it because they are small and compact... hes right.. dragons are to big.. devil is to evil... so on so on... Its just a fad. i go for dragons and demons myself.. Personally, i tink cheaps breakdown is a lil garg-bias there... There is no exact setting for demons, they dont HAVE to be red, and dont HAVE to be fire orientated. Same for gargs tho, they dont HAVE to be as described. There are jsut a number of people here that like gargs over drags and demons, but not one is better then the other, and i dont think anyone here should try to say one IS better then another..

But i did like the way dragons were portayed in Breath of fire 2 and 3

THey made them look kinda cool and the fact you could transform into them, and they werent bad

when it would rain, it would sound like they were gargling due to their deep throats.
the french then named them gargoyles after their word for gargling
so much for being scary.

Nope, that was 5 years after.
Gargoyle is an ancient word for throat, not gargling

Demons was an alternate term of evil beings (that could be anything, such as that "cat is a demon") and dragons were originally small reptiles. They didn't breathe fire, they were just 5 foot long.

...okay I do like Gargs but not as much as deamons... deamons are invincible... duh! plus they are all scareh and stuff and they can cast you down into eternal damnation... and that just sounds cool man
...and also that is a correct spelling of demons
