This is one of my projects. Its basically a beat up, run down warehouseish place. This was one of my projects for school and now I'm just working on it on and off when I have some free time. This is all my own original work. I'm mostly a texture artist so the modeling is fairly simple. I'll probably get around to updating some of the models but for now I think its ok. What do you guys think? |

Looks pretty good. A bit square though. I think 'realistic environments' tend to be a bit boring in terms of archetecture, so my suggestion is to modify the layout a little bit. Make it make less sense, ya know? But more sense in a game world. -- <[[iframe]] src="http://gamercard.xbox.com/fallout81.card" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" height="140" width="204"> |

Yea theres still plenty of work that has to be done to this. I'll be working on the layout as well. Thx for the feedback |

It's looking great, good work so far. I would say more rubble and destruction. Edited by: ngs616 |

I really like shots 2 and 3. I would say more rubble and destruction. Yea I'm going to be adding more objects in there, some debris. The caved in ceiling doesnt sound like a bad idea metalspy wrote:It looks nice, but also a bit empty. And maybe too grey (even for a "beat up, run down warehouseish place") , but if that's what you're aiming for, you did ok! (lol sorry couldn't resist) What game/engine is this?
Yea I agree, I did a basic set so that i can turn it in for class. As I get to working on it more, there will be alot more to look at |

I would say on the 4th screen you should use smaller lights, such big ones look like overkill for a small place. |

Yes Def more rubble and stuff, the pillar alone looks out of place. The rest however, looks great! |

And i agree with the guy above who said 2 and 3 look nice. I love the framework on 3. What is the texture you use for the floor? It looks kind of displaced to be honest. For a warehouse you would expect some torn off concrete, but yours looks like, uhm, some plants? ^^ Thanks bro, I appreciate the feedback. As for the floor texture, it will mostly likely change in the future. I did indeed make it a ground looking texture as if the place had no concrete floor. When I have some free time I'll try and rework the floor. Hendrix wrote:i like it, nice work there mate.
Thank you aznangelcakes wrote:Yes Def more rubble and stuff, the pillar alone looks out of place. The rest however, looks great!
Thanks for the input. Yea I have to model out more debris. I have a good amount of assets that still need to be made |

Hey, wow I didn't realize I had anyone following this project I did come up with this reflective tile material. it may come in handy when creating a floor. Thanks alot Joe. Well at the moment I was just mostly doing it for a self exploration project and trying to get better at what I'm doing while obtaining a broader understanding for this awesome engine. I think its going well to the point that I maybe redoing quite alot of things to make them look even better. But if people really want it to be released once its finished I can see that happening. Not too bad hey... though metal and tile? its a weird combo for the floor i think, but anywho, looks nice the tiled part, almost like a hall of showers haha, i dont know if its just me, but maybe you aughta rethink the tiles, and also as for the floor in general, more debris and dust, doesnt have that abandoned look the previous pics had =] -- The best work never was and never will be done for money. most warehouses have plain cement floors: no reason to pay for anything more detailed. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

Man, that is looking awesome. I especially like the texturing. It's looking a little less like a warehouse, but i have to say this version is very visually appealing. |

That's really good looking, I really love the specularity of the tiles, gives the place a lot of life. Are the walls supposed to be granite? If you're going for cement they ought to have a lot less rugged detail. Right now they look hewn. You said you were going to work on the walls, so I assume that's just a texture you threw onto the surface. |

Yea its a weird combo but just figured I'd try things out and see how it look. there's going to be a bunch more debris and dirt coming as well. There's still alot that has to be added to give off the effect I want TheHappyFriar wrote:most warehouses have plain cement floors: no reason to pay for anything more detailed.
Yea just experimenting a bit with details atm. The floor hasn't bee light mapped yet. I'm gonna save that for a little later once the flor is almost finished ngs616 wrote:Man, that is looking awesome. I especially like the texturing. Awesome. I'm trying alot of techniques to improve my texturing skill. I'm happy to hear that they're paying off. grinnock wrote:That's really good looking, I really love the specularity of the tiles, gives the place a lot of life. Are the walls supposed to be granite? Glad you like it. I actually made the tiles have a reflective material (pseudo reflection). I actually went in and made that wall texture but it was more tailored to the previous look so they don't make to much sense now. I'll be making a more appropriate texture soon. Thanks for all the feedback guys. It really does help alot. |
