Hi there.

I've been playing video games since about 1986, and still consider myself a pretty casual gamer. Seems like there's so much creativity out there, it's a daunting task to try and keep up.

Ultimately I like playing RPGs, and Survival games, but really, for me, a game just has to have a compelling story. As an aspiring writer, I am drawn to games that make me feel something, or think about my in-game actions. Sometimes that happens only for a moment in a game, but a moment can be enough in many cases. My current favorites are Bioshock Infinite, Bastion, and Thomas Was Alone.

That being said, I've got a quiet little dream of one day writing (or at least helping to write) a game. The question is always finding the time to make the commitment, as well as finding a project that will give a stranger from the internet with no previously published work (yet) a chance...which, as you can imagine, probably means the dream will never be realized, haha. I'm okay with that, since hey, I still get to play some pretty great games.

PM me or add me as a friend if you want to talk games. I'm always looking for new stuff to try.

Hey everyone. I'm Shark. I'm a recent college graduate looking for either a job in game design, or to create my own games as an independent developer. Right now, I have some ideas for games I want to make, but I lack the artistic and computing resources. If anyone wants to know more about my ideas, or wants my help on one of their projects, they can PM me. I can offer help with coding, level design, overall game design, and programming. I also have a huge passion for video games in general, so if you have an awesome game you want me to enjoy or critique, I'd be more than happy to do so.

Whats up folks?
While I'm not exactly a newbie to Indie DB, I am a newbie to the forums and posting actual Content.

I began Game Design in 2009 as a student at Sandhills community College in Pinehurst NC, graduated in 2011, and spent some time moving around the state trying to find work.
In 2012, I moved to Greensboro NC with the goal to eventually start my own Game Design Team, which I am currently pursuing (While working a day job of course).
I'm a programmer/2D artist, with a heavy background in music and writing, In college, I referred to myself as a tech artist as I tend to dabble in all of the disciplines a little bit. I came to IndieDB seeking likeminded game designers, and legit feedback for the work I've been putting together. Here's hoping I can prove myself useful to the community in some way :P.

Hello all. I am new to this site (obviously). I'm a Mount & Blade modder. I have a question to ask but it doesn't warrant a whole new thread. Is there a place I canask it? Like a stickied Q&A thread?

Quit. Don't quit?Noodles. Don't noodles? You are to concerned with what was and what will be.There is a saying: yesterday was history. Tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present".~~Master Oogway~~

Hi! I'm new-ish here? Had an account for a while but never realized there was actually a forum (I'm apparently blind, it's almost impossible to miss). Not entirely sure what I'm doing here but figured I'd at least say hi. :)

Hello everyone! I'm new to this site (obviously, otherwise I suppose I'd be chillin' with the cool guys, out of newbie territory!). My name is Liam and I am a lover of games, writing, music and art.

I've just announced my first project, right here on Desura. It's a free, open-source 2D psychological horror called "Amber Psychosis".

Here's the link to the announcement thread, for those interested, and this one's to my own personal site.

You can also check out my (pretty snazzy) announcement poster here.

The best of luck to all of you, my fellow newbies! Live long and prosper.

I am a long time video game player and aspiring game developer. I consider myself a core gamer and enjoy a variety of games; if I find it fun, I'll play it! My favorite genres tend to be Action and RPGs. And, as one person commented earlier, I enjoy a really good compelling story. I am definitely more engaged if the story is well written with interesting characters, leading me to want to see what happens next.

Although I really enjoyed video games, I never really thought about working on them until my first year of college when I met some good friends who wanted to make a game. Now, I have a BS in Computer Science and want to use my skill to work in the industry.

I've worked on small games in the past and am currently working on one with future support with the Oculus Rift. I look forward to posting my progress and the resulting game!

Oh, and my favorite color is blue!

Hello, name's Devon, most call me Dj. I'm excited to be here! I've been talking with my team about doing this for a long time and it's finally done! I am still getting the hang of the profile building and still putting somethings together before I do the "add game" portion, but all in good time. I'm 22 years old and I am the director of a 19 man team working to finish our first game, Ataxia. It's an co op (4 player) action rpg that we are currently developing in Unity. We are looking to kickstart sometime in June. I will try to be as consistent as possible. Posting concept work, screen shots, audio files, and all in between of development as best I can. It is nice to meet all of you, best of luck on all of your projects, and look out for more Ataxia news soon!

Hi guys.
I've joined IndieDB 2 days ago and I'm thrilled how great the community is.

I'm Konrad, 23 years old student based in Glasgow. I love gaming, and making games. I mean who can better understand what gamers like than gamers themselves?
Now studying Game Design, so no surprise why i go with Game development now. :) I'm on my fourth year (the last one) at Uni, and happily use my game (can find it on my profile) as a dissertation.

So anyway, hi to all the great peeps out there. :)

I've been around ModDB for years with a rather political game, but my background is in the arts. I'm currently getting more and more involved working as a writer and level designer in various projects with my new company Causa Creations and look forward to share them here with this lovely community! If you ever need help with writing or research or even the german language (of which I'm a native speaker), don't hesitate to contact me.
Also, I play Dota 2. Way too much.

Hello everyone, this community looks like an amazing place!
Lately I felt the need to go back to some old school FPS, like Quake III Arena which is still one of the best shooters ever. I also like Doom a lot, and I'm looking for inspired mods for my FPS needs. I think I will find some very cool stuff in here!
About modding, I messed around with rFactor, skins, new wheels, and physics. If time permits I would like to expand my basic 3D abilities.

Good gaming and modding to everyone!

Hey guys! I'm Allen, 18 years old. I've been developing games as a hobby since I was 10 when I discovered Game Maker. My bio already says it, but my interests tend to be puzzle and strategy games or multi-player games. I am developing a puzzle game at the moment, and I've joined this site to mingle and try to promote the game in the community as it grows.
