Hello, decided to check out this site and been reading various sections and hit the forums to say hello. Just registered and looking forward to finding new games and mods, as well as start work on my own project (i'll make a post about what i need later)

I am Brandon, live in kansas, I have 4 years of college in IT with 6 Certifications (A+, Net+ etc). I do not have any coding experience. I am very passionate about gaming and i love to write and design and create games, i just do not have an official or educated background in it...yet. At this point in my life i want to start something different, having been doing Computer work for so long, i find that its not really satisfying, and there is no jobs here to speak of, i am currently working at Walmart 3rd shift.

Anyways i want to shift my priorities to something i am really into and love to do: create/design games. And when i say that i mean of the RPG/D&D type of games. I have been playing RPG's since the NES days, all through SNES and PS1 and now PS3/4. But my real focus is on PC, and it started with the internet age and Diablo 1, Starcraft and all blizzard games. I have been playing D&D games for just as long, and love just about every D&D based game out there, even having tried the new Neverwinter mmo.

My goal is to gather some friends who are like-minded and passionate about gaming and games like i am and create and design "the perfect rpg experience" but that's a pretty bold statement. What i mean is that i grow tired of the same games these days, i certainly enjoy playing them, but there is always something missing in my opinion, a feature, or a idea that sparks my creative side, and i wish to someday be able to create a game where i can put everything i have learned/experienced/wanted in an RPG all into 1 game.

A game that has the most fun features, designs, and just something that i can play and constantly able to update and add to. Static games are something that have always made me want to design away from. I am wanting to create games that are always constantly evolving, changing, updating and moving forward, progression players can see and experience (like most mmo's)

I've played just about every RPG on PC, single player and MMO over the years. From EQ, to World of Warcraft (my current game of choice) to old school pen-paper tabletop, i love it all. Dungeon Siege, Dragon Age, Diablo, DDO, Wow, EQ, Rift, all of which i have designed/made addons, mods etc along the way in an effort to curb my craving for something more. When i'm given a basic game core, it lets me add and experiment, but to many games these days still are restrictive...that's why i am here....to get some help from a great community such as moddb, and find the help and tools that i need to succeed in this new adventure.

So long post, but here's hoping that joining you all will finally get my project moving forward, and I'll be asking tons of questions and learning and updating along the way

as they say "its not the destination that's important, its the journey to get there"

Hi everyone!

Just realised we've not posted at all, so time to say hello! We're Firebrand Games. We have two studios with small, close teams. One in Glasgow, Scotland, and the other in Merritt Island, Florida. We've mostly worked on contract jobs for clients until recently, although we have had a few original IP releases over the years. We're currently shifting our focus to develop and self-publish our own games, with mobile/tablet devices being our main platform; any suitable platform is considered though.

We recently released Solar Flux HD for iPad in August, but due to the demand for other platforms, we've just announced that PC, Android and iPhone are on their way too! :)

We have a few other projects being worked on just now, but are still in a very early stage, so we'll be getting more information out about them soon!

Hi all, so, I'm David. I like games. Mostly RPGs and strategic ones. I'm a Virgo (apparently). I write.

OK, I'll flesh that out a bit.

I'm a strong writer and an ideas man, not a coder or graphics designer. My background informs everything I write: I have two Degrees in political philosophy, I'm a geopolitics and history wonk, and I'm an enormous high-concept sci-fi buff, amongst other levels of geekdom in literature, heritage and art. If you're hiring, my big selling point is that I can help create game worlds with real depth, including plausible history, politics and philosophies. I'm a deep thinker by nature, and that always comes out in the themes and ideas I factor in to my writing.

My 'day job' (though unpaid at present) is in the non-profit sector, where I've been developing a project focused on regional social mobility in northern England. Which means I also have plenty of experience under my belt of developing unconventional projects from a cold start.

I'm open to offers from anyone who's looking for a writer to work on concept development, game worlds, narrative and plot. I've also decided to start off with a bang, and already posted an appeal for collaborators in 'Game Ideas' around a new concept for an FPS/RPG.

Of course, I'll also be lurking around a bit in the months to come and chipping in on issues which pique my interest.

Hi, I'm Mike from NotNowLewis, we've been developing a story driven physics platformer puzzle engine on top of libgdx for the last 4 months, and it's getting to the point where we can show some screenshots! Check it out at Indiedb.com, there's a nice video there too showing off the lighting engine :)

First of all my name is Jesse. I have been gaming for at least 8 years now. I only recently been getting into PC gaming and using all these awesome mods. Outside of games I enjoy playing lots and lots of hockey, and on my spare time I like to go fishing. I accept friend requests and like meeting new people. Feel free to add me on PSN and/or Steam. Also... I'm awesome.... and so are cookies.

Hello, I am Joe aka Ojo7155, and I just wanted to introduce myself. I haven't been on this site too long, so I am still a noob, so yeah...

Hello, I'm Cyndi, not necessarily brand-spanking new, but I am definitely a newb/noob whatever it truly is.

I am a senior in college majoring in Studio Art/Fine art with a focus in Printmaking/Drawing.  I also paint, but classes didn't work out as planned so it's printmaking instead.  I like both so it doesn't really matter.  Aaaanyways.  I want to get into visual development/concept art and the like because I enjoy the brainstorming and creating part of the whole art process.  Fine artists don't just b.s. an explanation for their artwork all the time.  I know, because I've done it.  But being able to actually be a part of the team that creates the world visually is something I would love to do.

Gaming-wise I started to really get into gaming with NWN, and it's still my all-time favorite game with Dragon Age following close behind.  So that basically labels me as one that adores RPGs.  If it has an excellent story, I'm game.  If it has character creation and I can customize my characters I'm even more for it.  But story is the big thing for me.

So that's pretty much me in a nutshell.  Cheers~

Good evening, my name is Kellen.  I am currently in my second year studying Game Art and Design.  SIEGE ended today, and I decided to get into gear.  I am here to network, contribute to mods, improve my skills, build my resume, and get myself ready for a career in the industry.

I am doing well with hard surface and organic modeling and basic texturing.  I just finished my first 3D animation class, and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I would really like to practice more animation, so please feel free to contact me if you need help on a project.  Naturally, I am also a designer and problem solver.  With a background in engineering, I really thrive when presented with a problem in need of a creative solution.

I use Maya mostly, but I am currently learning 3ds Max.  I have dabbled in the CryEngine, Unreal, Source, Unity, and Bethesda's Creation Kit.  I am by no means capable of doing much of anything in any of those engines, so I would love to gain some experience while working with someone.

As for game genres, I'm pretty open.  I play Skyrim, COD, TF2, Smite, Killing Floor, Splinter Cell, Diablo 3, Portal, Resident Evil, Dead Space, and many more.  I have a few ideas for mods, but I don't know where to start.  (Insert plea for advice here)

I look forward to teaming up with an individual or a group and working on ideas and projects.  I promise to be easy to work with, fun, insightful, honest, polite, professional, and hard working.  I am completely dedicated to becoming one of the best in my field of interest by working hard and learning everything that I can.

Thank you for reading my introduction, and again, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or requests.

Cheers!
Kellen

Hi, I'm Jeremy, and I got into PC gaming back in the very early 90s, with my Dad's 286. (Like most people of my era, I started on the Atari 2600, back in the eighties).

I finally took the plunge and started to learn UDK to make my own game.

The game I ultimately want to make is a sprawling sci-fi RPG, for which I have 50,000+ words of notes.

The game I immediately want to make is "(Game X ) in (Engine Y)". Sorry, I mean "Hitman: Blood Money in UDK". :)

What I'm actually working on, now, is a platformer.

May a mighty oak spring from this little acorn...

Hello all, I am not a big person when it comes to blogging (not sure why because its an excellent place to meet people)  My main goal in life is to bring the first Game Studio to the Cleveland area.  I know that it may seem like a big goal, but being able to provide jobs to my city and doing what I love drives me forward.  I look forward to catching up with everyone on here and if you guys want to reach me my email is radigantaylor@yahoo.com Thanks guys I will see you on the forums!

Hi all, I'm a web developer from Milan, Italy.

I've always been interested in game developing, but I never did anything.
Now I've started to work on a game prototype in html5, to get my hands dirty and actually do stuff, while learning something new (which will be useful also in my job) as I describe in my first blog post.

Cheers!

Eh up, I'm new to this forum.

I joined Desura via RGCD when I bought Inescapable by Matt Fielding. It's an Amiga style game for PC, which is pretty cool. Glad I bought it.

Anyway, I'm a bit of a retro freak (love the C64) and am a proud owner of a newly acquired 1541 Ultimate 2.

I work in the games industry, but back in the day, I used to be a bedroom programmer/artist/musician for the C64.

Just thought I'd drop in and say HI anyway.

SO...

Hey everybody,

I'm TammiLion and currently happily working as an Android Developer and planning on doing my Master's Degree in Game Studies (Netherlands, UvA) starting next February or September.
My favourite genres are RPG, adventure, (managing kind of) simulation and strategy (I love Pokémon, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, Harvest Moon and many more). It's my dream to able to create (or at least program) a game like Pokémon. I love 2D art (Swords & Sworcery, Pokémon (Gen II & III), Lone Survivor, Gods Will Be Watching, Breath of Fire et cetera) and that's what I would like to implement in the games I'll create.
I've entered Ludum Dare 27 and am planning to join the Global Game Jam. I hope to throw out some creative ideas out here or think about other's ideas and help with suggestions. I just love creative sparring. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here and also just to play some great games that I otherwise would not have been able to find :)

Well, since I'm here I might as well say "hi" after long time of stalking...

My name is Josip and I'm a freshman at game developing.

I'm currently 22 year old student at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb, Croatia. Apart from game developing, my hobbies are gaming (how shocking, a gamer making games!? XD), playing piano, watching animes and reading books and visual novels.

For games, I mostly prefer RTS (StarCraft 2), action (J)RPGs (Ys: Origin), rhythm games (Audiosurf, Osu) and any other good games. Lately, I've started to care less about AAA games (with exceptions) and more about indie games because I got a lot more satisfaction from playing games like Bastion, Limbo, Chantelise etc.

While I'm programming for about 8 years, none of my projects I started were finished; all was incomplete junk of code wanting to represent existing games. Currently, I'm working on a remake of Namco's Battle City for NES in order to learn more about game developing through development of something that exists, with addition of my own touch. It's in "production" (if you can call it) for about 2 years and thanks to it I improved my overall knowlegde and programming skill. Main language is C#, using XNA as a backing engine, but I have in plan to move to others once I learn enough to do so.

My biggest flaws (regarding "production") are art (drawing, modelling, whatever) and actual content writing, which results in lacking of good content on both my IndieDB game page and main webpage. I hope I'll improve both of that someday.

I realize I can't fight (yet) with great games that are listed here... but why make a game if I won't share it with others? :) And for that, I need a place to tell other people that my game exists...

Thanks for reading :)

Just don't forget that while you work on your games, don't hesitate at all to leave comments that encourage and/or give feedback for others' games. You'd want the same from them so that you don't feel alone in your endeavor. We all learn together.
