So... I'm new here, to these forums, discovering this site via Unleashed Project for Sonic Generations, and I was kinda hoping to post something I had until the guidelines and stuff made me feel like an idiot in the context of "Should I even post this?" and/or "Where do I post this?" ._.

So yeah... I feel like an idiot. But anyway, here I am, I guess.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Desura too - I'm helping out at a small studio and their project Uemeu. I'm looking to find an experienced C# programmer with Unity3D experience. Glad to be here and now going to find where to post the opening... :D

Hi there,

I am currently a UC-Berkeley student looking into indie game development as a hobby. I am currently participating in Newgrounds' Construct 2 game jam, and you can follow my devlog at

I've heard a lot about IndieDB, so I figured it might as well be time to join since I'm actually making games now!

I've been here for a little over a week, mostly for the Amnesia mods, and I've met some pretty good people. I've played several of the mods out for the game now, began beta testing a coming release, and started making my own mod. Still learning scripting, but having a good time overall.

Like Amnesia?

Hey there, amateur composer and wannabe voice actor here trying to begin building up my portfolio! I'm interested in scoring, voice acting, and writing story/dialogue. Truth be told I don't have very much real world experience, but you can check out my Soundcloud for musical examples of my compositions. Gotta start somewhere!

Hi there! I'm Steve! Just found the site about a week ago, and am still trying to figure it all out.

I've been working in feature film as a vfx artist for a few years, and decided that (for a variety of reasons) I needed to go on sabbatical, and am now working on a game with a friend from junior high school.

I'm currently living in San Francisco, but before that I was in: Alberton, PEI (Canada); Charlottetown, PEI (Canada); Amherst, NS (Canada); Truro, NS (Canada); Oakville, ON (Canada); New Glasgow, NS (Canada); Toronto, ON (Canada); Sydney, NSW (Australia); Vancouver, BC (Canada); aaaaaand as I said, I'm now in San Francisco, CA (USA)

I love pixel art, and chip-tunes, and have been playing games since '89. Some of my all time favourites include River City Ransom, Battletoads, Zelda II, Megaman, Star Tropics, Final Fantasy IV & VI & VII & Tactics, Dragon Quest IV, Super Metroid, Castlevania II, Link To The Past, Chrono Trigger, Shining Force 1 & 2, Destiny of an Emperor, Breath of Fire II, Quest for Glory 1 & 2, Gabriel Knight, Ninja Gaiden 2, Shadow of the Colosus, Ico, Brave Fencer Musashi, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, Fire Emblem Sacred Stones, Civilizations 1 & 2, Metal Gear Solid 1 & 3, Assassin's Creed 1, Super Hexagon, FTL, Limbo, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Mark of The Ninja, Guild Wars.

Hi All!
My first reason for signing up is that I was hoping to get some advice on an engine.
If I can find this, I'd love to participate in projects, given my more limited skill level :)

I have been modding various games for many years, starting with "mod unfriendly" games like BotF, to mod friendly games like Civ4. I can do limited graphics work, such as reskinning models using photoshop, and have learned some scripting in everything from propriatary programs like the old one that came with Empire Earth, to Python (just simple stuff for use with Civ4)

I am hoping to find a "genre neutral" FPS/Adventure type mod/ game engine. For example I have played around with the GECK editor for Fallout 3, and could build rooms and such, but in the end everything looks like a post apocolyptic game :-) Probably something between a mod an a real engine.

I really enjoy creating stories, and logical events - e.g. if the following conditions are met, the story moves forward in a plausable manner. Missions should be richer than finding keys and killing a few monsters

I was hoping for something that would allow me to design landscapes, buildings, etc. without having re-invent the wheel. I don"t want to draw every tree and rock, or the way people walk. I don't want to draw every brick, etc, a generic brick wall is ok, I want to edit in a few details key to the story.

I would like to set up dialog between characters, with logical conditions (e.g. "I heard you asking around about the old mine -the real story is xxx"), and would be fine with "simple" graphic that could be improved later if the story is working out how I want (adding in complex lighting, custom skins, etc)

Well that"s about it. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am Qieth. I have been a member on Desura for some months now, just to activate some game keys I got here and there. Now, though, I am trying to use it more, because I realise that it is a great way to get in touch with developers.

I run a Youtube gaming channel which has previously been focused on Lets Play. From next monday (29th), I am changing the format to showcase a lot of different games - preferably every single day. Thats the plan so far at least. So I want to use Desura more to get in touch with developers, to post reviews, to make some blog posts and so on.

And since I am a forum junkie, there is every chance that I might ake a peak in here once in a while.

Hey there!
After you turn all the lights green a door will open under them and you need to go there (and better be fast too ^^'''). To go there from the generator 3 room you go forward and out into the hallway. When you're there look for an oppening on the wall that you can go into on your right and go in. When you reach the end of it turn right and you just keep going forward. You should be able to reach the door without any problems. Good luck after getting to the door! Hope this helped. =)

Oh right, introduction xP
Nice to meet you all! I'm "music7car" but just call me "car" or "m7c". =)
I LOVE horror games and any game that has a really good story, so if you know any good ones please reply to this post or leave a coment in my profile! Thanks! ^^

Hey guys, I'm new here, and I bring a lot of questions :P
I have a mad plan to build a roleplay-purposed environment - blend of a 13th century mysterious, undiscovered Caribbean island, voodoo magic, and a gateway to a mystical world of wonders and terrors beyond human comprehension. No questing, no leveling, no raids, battlegrounds or any of that nonsense. World built strictly to roleplay in.I'm after a large, flowing, open world without damned loading screens everywhere in between or paths that must be followed to get from point A to B. No impassable hills or walls between areas. A place that feels natural. Now, I've been considering to use WoW 3.3.5 and Noggit to build a completely new world, however I would be happier to have slightly fresher graphics.

I take few other options into consideration:Neverwinter Nights 2 - however is there any way to force the map editor to make areas MUCH larger than the standard maximum grid size?
What about using Oblivion and its toolset? Could it be modded/adapted to work somewhat like a MORPG?
Or perhaps someone has a better idea of what to use as the backbone?I'd need a game that has rich world building tools, allows large open spaces without transitions, and requires as little code digging as possible to make it happen.
Many thanks for any suggestions!!!

Hi ho, Gallimastro here.

Yes, I'm a newb. Been fascinated with game development since I was very young, been talked out of it and discouraged many, MANY times. This time I've decided to go at it alone without outside interference holding me back. My first goal is just to release a game I've had in development for a few months.

I work using Construct 2, its a nice HTML5 game editor which is perfect for someone who lacks extensive programming knowledge such as myself. Before that, it was RPG Maker and Unreal Engine, neither venture bore fruit.

I hope to get to know many of you as I make this place one of my many hangouts.
