Hello! My name's Jon, and I work at a company in Scotland called Interface3. We make educational multiplayer games for iPad and Android tablets, and are moving from a history of consultancy work into producing some original titles of our very own - we've got three in the works, built on our own reusable technologies inside Unity.

I'm here to learn and share with more typical indie game developers, and to show a bit of what we're doing to help kids learn through innovative independently produced games for tablets.

Hello! :)

Hi there. I'm Thomas, and I have just started a new game. It's an RTS game with flOw-like visuals. I am primarily a C++/OpenGL guy, but I've also dabbled in Java, Python and Objective C. I have been a programmer for over 20 years, but I am fairly new to indie game development.
I'm beginning to realise that I probably don't have what it takes to be a successful indie developer. I know how to make games, but I have absolutely no clue about promotion and marketing. So I am sure I am destined for obscurity. :-(

Hi all,

It looks like I'm the newest newb on the board, and most likely one of the oldest. lol!  My name is Geoff Hassing, I'm a professional cartoonist looking for indie gaming art gigs.  Please take a look at my work in my profile or my website via my profile.  If you like what you see, drop me a line and I'd be happy to discuss your project.

This is how I make my living, so please only contact me about paying gigs.  Unfortunately, I can't afford to take on royaly only gigs right now.

If you would like an estimate for some artwork, please provide as much information about your game, your approximate budget you have to work with (please be realistic) deadlines, asset list, links to any examples of other games or art with the look and feel you would like, and any other pertinent information.  The more information you can provide me with, the more accurate of an estimate I can give you.

I think that's about it.  Otherwise, nice to be here, I look forward to getting to know you all and learning more about creating games! : )

Hi. New to the ModDB forums. Please be kind! :)
We are a small group of 3, in Sacramento, CA. This is the first time we have started to make games for others to play, we are hoping it works out!
I'm Spooky!  I'm tall, I love reading, video games (especially JRPGS), drinking craft beers and sea monkeys.
We  have lots that we are currently working on.   Our faerie princess idler should be up on Kong here soon.  Nice to meet everyone!

Hi, I'm Nicole.  I'm really wishing I took the time to find this site months ago :)

I'm an artist/animator at Disparity Games, the company my hubby and I formed last year.  We have worked in the games industry for 10+ years here in Australia. The collapse of the local industry gave us the push we needed to go indie.  It was either that or move somewhere cold :)  Our first game, Run Fatty Run hit the app store on Friday.

Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi All,

I'm Adam from +As Designed Games, we're a small group of developers who work on our games in our spare time. We all have full-time games industry jobs but we still like to make our own games when we can :)

We are currently working on two games; Impatient Squirrel for iOS and Godsweeper for PC (with a later iPad release). Each game is being developed independently by different teams (between 2 and 4 people) within +ADG but I (Adam) am over-seeing both as designer.

It's nice to be here and I hope to be able to share lots of dev news with you all very soon!

Greetings,

My name is Sky. I am from Singapore. I mainly focus on making sound mods for L4D2 since it is the only game that I play the most on Steam. I will be uploading more sound mods soon so give them a try if you wish to do so. That will be all for now.

Ladies and gentlemen,

My name is Kyle. I'm known as epicbox in the Internet. I was born in England and moved to New York when I was barely six years old.  I'm a huge fan of adventure and puzzle games and I'm personally against warfare shooters for the sole purpose it's unoriginal and repetitive.

It's been my goal to develop a mod since I was about sixteen, that's two years ago, and I might start soon.

Good day to everyone,
Kyle

Hey!

I'm Gordon - on most places, I'm known as getluky, but it just so happens to be taken here! So I've taken on a different name. I've lived all over the US, but ended up in the Los Angeles area to start a family. I started programming by making games for my classmates on the TI-85, and after many years doing backend web stuff, I've finally come back to games once again. I made some iPhone games at my company Goodhustle Studios, but recently have been working on expanding to more platforms like PC/Mac and Android. I'm pretty active on the Unity3d forums, and I've been developing on that engine for about 3 years now. I joined IndieDB because I saw another dev promoting their game here, and it looked like a great place to get involved and share media about upcoming projects. My current project in development is Beast Boxing Turbo for PC/Mac, a first-person boxing game that is an evolution of an earlier iPhone game I've been working on since late 2010.

Nice to meet you!

Hey everyone I'm Nathan, I've just joined up! I'm a big gamer and I've recently decided to have a crack at some game building, so I'm making my first iPhone game in just 30 days to see just how hard it is!
So far it's been a great experience and I've got plenty of people involved! Everyday I'm posting funny videos and pictures showing exactly what's going on in the project! I'm also offering people the chance to add their ideas and win free copies of the game!
So please check out my page as I'd love to know what everyone thinks of it so far!

Hello everyone!
My name is Sam and I'm 22.  I just earned a BS in Computer Science and will begin working
on a master's in about 2 weeks.  I've dabbled in game development since 2003,
when I started trying to make Morrowind mods.  I've never completed a
game other than a Pong clone on my TI-86 calculator.  Some of my
favorite games are Morrowind, Civilization 4, Quake Live (Quake 3), and
Halo.
I'm currently working on a game for XBLIG called Zephyr.  I'm kind of a jack of all
trades when it comes to game creation.  I'm ok at coding, musical
composition, and art.

Hey, I'm Kareem.

I'm pretty new to programming, but at the moment, I think I have an... acceptable grasp on python.  I do a little art and a little 3d modeling, so basically a Jack of all trades but master of none.  But that's okay, I'm not finished learning and I'm not planning on reinventing the wheel any time soon.

I'm learning game design and I want to start a commercial project. On my own.  Nothing big, but I'm hoping that my creativity will draw in people.  I'm really helpful for this collection of sites an Desura, which appears to be the perfect platform to launch my project when it's ready.

I'm Andy, a relatively new indie game developer.  I have my own (solo game dev) studio called TestTubeGames.

My background is in physics and education.  I got in to making games as a way to turn abstract physics concepts (like special relativity) into hands-on experiences that everyone could enjoy.  That particular example led to Velocity Raptor, my first flash game, in which your character travels near the speed of light.  More recently I've released Agent Higgs, a particle physics puzzle game on iOS.

I'm always looking for new and creative ways to show off science, and to get my games & simulations into people's hands.  Looking forward to learning from you all (and hopefully sharing the few things I know)

Hi all, I'm Alam. Strange name? of course. I'm Indonesian, still 13 years old. I'm is mini-mod developer leader, modding for BF2, and i'm still new for it.

My speciality on modding on bf2 is..... code tweaking. That just what can i do, for now. The truth, i want to start learning modelling 3D. But, i still use my old computer, because i dont have money to buy new computer or even upgrade it. But i'm still happy with my computer now, at least it can play COD4 on highest settings and Crysis at medium settings.

Nice to meet you all!

Hello, I'm sbkodama, french, 27 years old, and I work on two blender game project.

The first is an 3D action/plateformer game started since end of 2008, it's on stand by at the moment because of reflexions about background and level desing.
The second is an 3D futuristic racing game started a few months,  it's on working progress at the moment.

Hi, I'm Rj, and i forgot i even had a moddb profile!

Things that interest me are usually weird, I enjoy the abnormal as well as scary things. Such as creepypasta's (I hope some of you know what that is).
currently I have been interested in modifications of Max Payne and have always have enjoyed the modding of the goldsource and source engine. I currently reside in Maryland, but I hope soon I could visit other places(preferably Europe).

Well that's all I can really say to describe myself at the moment. I'm not very creative when it comes to these things.

Greetings from Romania, Bucharest, ModDb-ers from all over! :D

I am a passionate space-/land-based RTS-es gamer, used to playing your mods, add-ons, and total conversions quite a lot. Especially those made for "Star Wars – Empire at War: Forces of Corruption" (eg, the Gold Pack); for which I can truly say that I am more than satisfied with the gameplay, in general.  However, I do not possess any attributes for actual 'modding' activities, but e-journalistic ones with an average experience to mention.
Now, in order to make the long story short(-er), me playing like a madman your stuff is the very reason for which I hereby propose a total conversion for you to make... pro bono, namely for "SW – EaW: FoC", one based on the "Stargate" universe - Yeah, another one! :P - and, to be more precise, on the "SG-1" tv show / serial. :)  I propose one of the following titles for it:

"Ba'al's (Golden) Conquest"
"Ba'al's (Golden) Odyssey"
"Ba'al's (Golden) Epic",... and so on.

Why Ba'al? And why (potentially) "Golden"? Because, for the first part of the issue, to me – I hope to you, as well –, he is one of the most interesting personae / characters of the SG-1's stories. He isn't intriguing enough, granted, but he might be by re-writing some of his becoming story and, of course, the campaign intros and logs; skirmishes only requires clever(-er) maps and great artwork.  Well, the whole proposed conversion would require this, actually! :)))  And, secondly, because this sexy guy – without any gay implications... ;) - never actually played by the rules of a sinister tyrant, like Anubis or, why not, Apophis done and were! In other words, I would like to offer my services as a... storyteller / script writer to any team skilled and willing enough to do... this. :)  Again, I do not know how to actually 'mod', but I could very well help you with the above-mentioned suggestions and, why not, with additional ones, like ideas on how the ships and land units should look – and behave... - like, on which faction should be (eg, playable) or not, what strength should each of these parties and/or units have, and so on.  The artwork would fall on you.

P.S. 1:  The time to be allotted by me for my storytelling / script writing would be of around 2-to-3 hours a day.  Hopefully, everyday, depending on the desired task to be solved.

P.S. 2:  I am willing to do all these as stated, namely in a pro bono fashion and under the pseudo / nickname: "Gamer_One82".

P.S. 3: Yes, this has been a generally intended message. :)

With anticipation and respect
,
