New Issue of PC Gamer Thread

Get it. It is the first issue with a DVD instead of CD, full of stuff. Including 14-day trials of Ultima Online age of shadows, Sims online, and Earth & Beyond. The other two don't interest me but UO is kinda fun. Especially since I get to live in this guy's house which is basically a mansion, and he makes cool armour for me

it would be cool, cept for the fact that none of the computers in my house have dvd drives in them, so i just get to stare at it... the tear off strip is pretty cool though

Steam is a utility that will upadte all HL games and you can get CS V1.6 from it but it's a major HD hog.

Um, it's just a patcher? Or am I misinterpreting you? I thought it was some multiplayer tool

steam is some VALVE crap, not just hl i think, btw i'm going to search for that pc gamer everywhere:P

You have to have a really good system for it to work while you play a game.
And i used to have a DVD rom drive when i bought my computer but it broke in the first week.

Yep! Me and jackson tried to play TFC through it, we spent almost an hour and we both kept crashing :/

my dvd rom doesnt work in any computer, ive tried it, its horrible, i need a new one

ASE, eh? I use GameSpy Arcade, a horrible piece of adware by a PO$ company, but it works. I've run into people on QuakeWorld who pimp ASE like it owns the world

i just play with ppl who tell me the server name

i use UBI to play Ghost Recon, but all i do now is make a server and tell my friewnds to join it over Roger Wilco (RW is mad)

I bought the lifetime thing on ASE, and it's definately worth it. I get priority on all t3h scanners!

Steam is a good idea, but the beta crashes like hell. The only reason it's a HDD hog is because it downloads all the games. You'll be able to buy HL2 on it and have it downloadable...
