Think of it as less about how to start a mod, and more about how to try and get people here to start your mod for you.

Why make people jump through hoops just to know what your idea even is? Post it. Scribble some puzzles out on paper or a napkin and post them too. Start making your map minus the testing elements and post some screenshots. Basically just let people know what they're actually getting into, and that you're dedicated enough not to make this a "I don't have the ability/time, plz do this 4 me" project.

Thats what happen when you let kids on the internet, they should just stick with english and math instead of mapping. He did mention his main weakness tho, and imo that is lack of time. For the god sake everyone have no time to make stuff please make it for me.

Go to rock paper shotgun's site, they have a tutorial for mod creation.
