I downloaded GTK-Radiant and within 40 minutes had created my first map. You can see it showcased on my dear veteran mapper friend Zombie's site, check it out: --

Hahahahahaha, I hope none of you take it seriously. By the way today I made a 24,000x24,000 unit terrain map!!! :o VIS errored out on it because of view distance but the Darkplaces Quake1 engine ran the whole thing fine at 30 fps on 1024x768 on my junk old rig... tis great --

NO! Radiant is beautiful... I mean, it may not be legal for Fniggium, but it's a nice editor! Besides, Quark crashes if you look at it funny. --

*me looks funny at quark *crash* MAN!!! anyway how did you get your maps to compile quark was the only way i could acutally get them to compile -- Grammar is my worst enemy along with flying chairs.

It was easy, you just tell it where the Quake3 directory is when you install it, then hit one of the options from the compile menu! Worked first time for me. I've never even been able to save a Quake3 model with Quark. --

Well, I'm not a Radiant whiz, in fact I only really know it's on switch and off switch. It worked for me, therefore I am happy.
