Cool stuff man, better than i can do i bet lol :dead:

I too want to get into modelling sometime, just a matter of picking the right modeling tool (seeing as i cant afford the big branded tools, it will probably be blender as a free full featured modeling tool)... I just need some proper tutorials, video tuts preferably, im learn easier by watching =]

lol ofcourse, nothing happens overnight, you should just be patient, it takes time, by the time you master 3D modeling there might be a new game or engine you would want to mod for, but dont make any solid decisions just yet, theres still plenty to learn about modding, what you want to do, what tech is better suited for what you want to do, and most importantly, what are the most realistic goals to achieve... and the best way to learn is to start small and start shallow (one thing you will be getting alot is criticism, sometimes quite harsh, but always constructive). So not only should you think of creating your own little mod, but also think of joining a mod and make that your starting point to learn how its done and what it takes =]

Some advice, since you getting into modeling right now, try to stick with it and master it, dont go trying to learn other unrelated skills, and try be a jack of all trades, you should be a master atleast one skill, but if you do wish to expand to other skills you could learn to do decent concept art that will help with your modeling, to create a visual goal for a model you would like to do, and then also texturing for your model, but if modeling is what you really like, focus on that till you are good and confident at it ;)

Otherwise, seeing as your a newb, welcome to ModDB, hope you stick around and enjoy your stay :)
