My first model ever... Thread

I finally gave up and did a model... dont be too harsh on it (it isnt exactly too complex either)

here goes:

model done in milkshape, had a friend render it for me in blender, did a small amount of touchup using fireworks

ummm.. nice.. i guess.. but my only question is- why ??

i initially did it because for my swim team we were doing these journals, and they are in nice binders with those clear covers over em. so i decided i wanted an image to go on the front of it, so what better thing that my teams logo? i tried to make it neat looking, then decided it would be easier doing it like this, so i did. yeah, i think its cool looking though

Well to me it doesn't look like a render. It looks like some text work in Photoshop. From the texture its hard to see any 3D to it.

i originally thought he just placed some text on a white background but i can see it now.gj.. make something now that isnt text based so i can say n1c3 weerk!! wait.. i just did

its good if you thought of that idea......what i mean is if you traced it then anyone can do that...i didnt read what you got that off of i thought u made it up

what do you mean "trace" it ? its a model... he modelled the words.. its not drawn or text based..

you dont understand modelling.... he probably put that picture in the background and placed the vertices of the boxes to fit the outlines of the font

well yeah, but thats still modeling... He could have done something cool with it... But none the less he made a model.... Now why on earth he would make a 3d model for his swimteam is still beyond me
