First time released in 10/2013, Racing Tank was one of the most surprising games among the Vietnam mobile games because while hardly any information of its had been leaked during the developing process and nobody had ever noticed, it became a success in no time. Silently launched into the Google Play, then silently climbed up the Games Ranking of the Google Play, Racing Tank was no doubt a great success when its download reached the landmark of 500 000. However, many gamers still showed their regret that Steam, the developer of the Racing Tank didn’t integrate the “Multiplayer mode” which is considered as the most attractive feature of the racing game in general. The Steam developer has kept silence since then and refused to reveal any new updates for the next version.

A long time has passed since then but in May 2014, Steam suddenly announced a new astonishing feature would be introduced in the next update of the Racing Tank, it’s the Robo Transformer feature . However, the “multiplayer” mode in this version was just added for showing off only, it couldn’t stand alone as a proper feature at that time; in other words it was still not “playable”. One month later, Racing Tank once more time came back, but not as an extended edition but as Racing Tank 2, a completely new version with Multiplayer mode now properly integrated as a completed feature. As Steam has promised, the players now can play with others on the other devices as the true meaning of the term “multiplayer”.

In the Demo version that Downgame.vn has experienced, it can be said that the Multiplayer function is quite friendly and interesting. As in normal Multiplayer function, the player will start with selecting the room, the stage and wait for others to connect. There are maximum 5 people who can participate in a room and race online together. They are free to compete their speed and should try hard to attack others as well. Hey, just imagine how pissed he would be if a rocket from nowhere suddenly hit his tank when he was about to reach the goal and you from behind leisurely passed his tank to become the winner, what an exciting moment! At present, the players have to select the stages manually in the Multiplayer mode of the Demo version. It is hoped that in the official version, when the Quick Race function is integrated into the Grand Prix league, the players can have the stages automatically selected as in other normal racing games.

According to Steam, the Robotic Transformer feature will be locked in the Multiplayer mode because if this feature is enabled, there may be some players overpowering others, which will cause the imbalance in an online competition and prevent the racers from showing their true controlling skill. Of course this fantastic feature is still available in the Singleplayer mode.

In the meantime, there are still some limitations in the Multiplayer mode, but the other updates such as new tanks added, social network sharing allowed, cg customization enabled to be suitable for the players’ devices, and a lot of new maps, new soundtracks and voice dubbed during the track…etc will ensure that the Racing Tank 2 will be a fabulous racing game for all the fans of this kind of game. As the schedule information, Steam will have their game released in July 4th2014.
