I made the terrible mistake of being so excited when I discovered Desura, that I just installed it right away (from where I downloaded the file/s).

I've now realised that, as a result, the main program as well as all game files get stored in my Downloads folder in my Home folder (I'm on Linux).

Is there any way that I can move the entire installation (say to /opt/Desura/ ) in some way without having to redownload everything again? I don't want to choose a specific installation folder for each game as I get them, as has been queried in other threads (I don't mind everything going to the same place) - I just want to move the entire installation somewhere else.

I really don't want to risk having to download everything again (and losing my savegames) as I'm on an extremely expensive and limited Internet connection. The less I have to download, the better.

I'd appreciate some advice.

Thank you! :)

Just move the entire install directory to where you want it and run Desura again. It should fix itself.

you can also just symlink it to where ever you want

Now you are just making it complex.

So, I finally got round to trying this... Moved the install folder, executed ./desura in the new folder, but then this happens:
ln: creating symbolic link `../lib/': File existsln: creating symbolic link `../lib/': File existsinclude/SharedObjectLoader.h:75 - Error loading library ' cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory' [LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/desura/lib]

The folder /opt/desura/lib does in fact exist, and so does (in that folder) so I'm not sure what I'm missing here...?

OK remove all the files aside from the exe and the common folder then run the exe again in the new location.

I am in similar situation.I downloaded GSMod into: Program Files*86/Steam/SteamApps/common/MoWAS/mods.But the Steam I downloaded:
Program Files *86/Empty folder/Steam/MoWAS.Because I missed Empty folder during downloading GSMod,I can not activate and play this Mod.
So how can I move GSMod files into Empty folder/Staem and ... ... ... ?
