Hello,

I am a mature/experienced modeler/animator that is currently out of work.
Having some freetime, Id like to spend it in a productive and rewarding manner.
I am looking for a mod team that Id like to offer my services to.
I will provide samples/images upon request.

First about me:

- Over 15 years modeling exp.
- Exp. with Zbrush, Mudbox, Modo, 3dsmax, Photoshop, and too many apps to list.
- Can produce low to high poly models.
- Specializing in characters, creatures, animals, and monsters.
- Exp. in rigging via 3dsmax (CAT) as well as animating.
- Exp. in retopolizing and model optimization.
- Exp. in normal map generation and texturing
- Exp. high poly sculptor
- Exp. graphic designer, fine artist (with college degree)
- Exp. leading an art team
- Exp. getting fully animated assests in Unity3D

Depending on my family and my interest in your mod I can dedicate anywhere from 15-30 hr/weekly.
And I am willing to keep in constant communication with the team via Skype, MSN, etc.

What I am looking for:

- Preferably a mod team that is in the concept phase.
- Preferably a medium to large team (8-25 members)
- Must have an experienced and mature project lead (no 18 year olds please)
- Must have an organized team with design document and a well thought out plan for success
- Preferably a 3rd person RPG (Fantasy or Horror especially)
- Preferably using Unity3D

I am looking to work on Characters and Creatures, I am not interested in modeling any props or level models.

Please understand that I am experienced and regard my work and time as valuable.
I know how bad the economy is and except that I will be working for no pay for now.
But I am ONLY looking for the right team. Being 39 yrs old, I stress that I am ONLY interested in working with mature individuals.
Please serious inquirys and closely matching mod teams ONLY.

My email is meshwhiskey@hotmail.com.

Sincerely,
SJ

How is your preference as to working on pure rigging / animation roles?

Without any portfolio to review. Chances of finding a project that are serious, are very unlikely to seek you. I can say project "no more room in hell" is always on the lookout for additional help. The only thing that remains is what kind of quality work do you provide for the words you describe the character you are?

@CrazyMatt - Very unlikely you say? Work for free? Ive already had a dozen offers in 24hrs.
See free services are very very desired these days, incase you havent noticed.

Haha, he's right you know :) Working on my second selling title and the first was accomplished with a zero budget team. Ended up paying out for more than enough to compensate the team and pay them for a second. Just because it is for free, do not think people do not work hard and well.

I don't think he was implying that OP wouldn't work hard for free (as he never mentioned anything about this), just that it would at least be nice to see some work examples without having to google his youtube account. I know personally I would question the desperation of any developer that would try and recruit someone with no visual indication of what they can actually do.

I agree with Cryrid, a personal website or a link to youtube/vimeo with your reel is the mandatory step in looking for a position, unless you know a lot of people or is famous. It is just something to show off your skills and let people know you better, even if they are not recruiting. Picture over words by far and it is a Win Win situation for advertising yourself.

Whatever. He said if you want his portfolio, all you have to do is ask. Some people as you to help for a project w'o even asking to look because they want people this bad.

I've seen people do a lot of things that I wouldn't recommend doing. Doing something just because random strangers are doing it is not a good reason for anything ;)

I hope the OP is as good as he says, and maybe you can get away without inlining a few screens. However, if you're interested in getting the attention of the best teams, five minutes of uploading and/or linking undeniably makes a huge improvement to what people will think of you for a very small amount of effort. When the balance of effort to reward is that good, why wouldn't you do it?
