Everything explained here: If your country isn't in the allowed list anymore then you simply can't download anything on moddb... Fun fact for me: France is not allowed but french guyana is... Something just ain't right ! I guess more countries will be added lather. Edited by: Dr.Goupyl |

I'd say France has laws that gamefront doesn't like but french guyana does. Or there's an enormous amout of pirates in France & relatively little in the other location. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

Well it's the same laws in guyana and here and pirates ? that's nonsense ! From here that's just looks extremely random. ROFL, i almost fell of my chair when i saw that: even the French Southern Territories are allowed ! ITS F*KING ANTARCTICA !! there's like 500 people living here with 490 scientist !! EDIT: found a list of the "banned" countries. Edited by: Dr.Goupyl |

I don't know, I was just trying to think of something. The countries don't seem to make sense: no japan but the korea's & china are ok. that means it's not one of those "can't send your code to a US enemy" kind of thing. They're not blocking the mid-east countries. The only thing that comes to mind is international laws some how. EDIT: if they kicked out a good portion of their people it could definitly have to do with copyright laws on those countries. IE a Halo mod in US might be illegal but in Russia be legal, for example, because they don't regonize US copyright law, so they no longer handle that grey area. Apparently on the forum they say it can be an economic reason: not enough money was made in this countries and too much downloads were requested, meh... |

we are working on more mirrors. and if you look at the countries in that list it is typically high traffic but non english speaking. so my guess is that don't really sell ads in those places hence they couldn't justify / afford the bandwidth -- Scott Reismanis |
