Hello everybody, can someone tell me what the easiest game is to create for newbies?

By the way if someone can say, or help me with a game I will appreciate that.

hi,i guess you want to make a game for pc like me.So..i think we should learn and make it together :) and like jackma said : how to make a game which one is for beginners.

Feb 14 2014 Anchor

it depends are you looking to start with programming or game engines

i prefer game engines because i heard programming is hard but i want to learn it too :o

programming is not hard to learn you just have to not get to far ahead of yourself with it. if you do programming i recommend javascript, it is a web language mostly but unity uses it for a programming option. i recommend using a website called codeacadamy to lean it. and once comfortable try java or c++. as for engines start in something like game maker and slowly work you way up.

Well,i allways wanted to be in a developer team to do something with them etc and hmm i think i m more like looking to this : "How to do your models like characters -weapons etc and hmm also mapping but i guess mapping is easier.(I know GTK radiant that i used - CryEngine 3 i m not an expert with it i m new with it - Unreal Development kit - same situation as cryengine 3).The other thing is ...game maker looks like isnt the thing i m looking for and i prefer using game engine as i said (probably)..my situation is like : when i see a mapper's map project pictures i feel like i want learn it because i think it will be fun and hmm when i see a modeller's projects i want learn it too.Shortly i want make something - want to be successfull at something.

The idea behind starting with the smaller stuff is because you learn a lot of the same concepts as with the big 3d ones but its easier to understand and focus on. Since the age of about 10 i started trying to make game it wasn't until i was about 14 before i realised i need to start small i started with javascript and then moved to java. my first game was a command line guess the number game. And because of that i know own a large team working on big UDK game's. You have probably heard the saying "Rome want built in a day" the concept of it apply's here.

Easiest game to make is one that is single player and doesn't require rigging/animation or detail 3D. That limits you to simple shapes and spaceships. Games like pong, space invaders and puzzle games.
But if you really want rigging and/or detail 3D, you better off learning Blender/Maya/3dsmax before leaping into any game engines.

Learn it. All the highest end game engines require you to write your own code, and being able to write your own code gives you fine grained control over the entire simulation.

The first game I ever wrote was a Galaga like game. I wrote it in Java. But before that I had done lots of experimentation with Visual Basic 6 (yes, that) which was the very first programming language I learned. Now I've written a massive single player space sandbox game ( Moddb.com ).

The thing to remember is that becoming good at anything worth doing takes time, and this is no different. This is hard stuff, but it's also fun stuff. Be patient and don't set unrealistic expectations for your first project.

Why don't you try writing a simple arcade game? In the real world those games were often written in only a few weeks, and most (but not all**) of them are pretty simple to replicate. But you should learn a programming language, I usually recommend Python to newcomers because it is pretty forgiving and easy to pick up.

** Asteroids and Pong are deceptively simple.

EDIT: One last thing, programming languages share the same core concepts even if the syntax is different, once you learn one and understand the science of what is happening you can easily pick up any others you need to.

I started to learn Python like you said to me,through "Codeacademy" :).It looks easiest coding language :p

although i dont know python i could help you learn something like javascript, java, C# or C++. im thinking of doing tutorials for people so that they can work up to using 3d engines like cryengine and udk to make big 3d game. although if i do we will start with Java

ill try do some today for you. they will be basic java for know.

I have ever worked with Game Maker and I have created the game in the Game Maker Guide. I have also a project of the Construct 2 Guide Game. So what do you guys think is better for me. Game Engines or Programming?

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

programming is always useful i always recommend learning programming, all engines require at least some knowledge. programming will allow for more control and freedom. but engines will allow for a faster production.

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

And if I may ask with what for Program I can learn fastest?

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

for speed i'm not sure but if you are capable try doing java, and once comfortable add the slick library.

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

I will try it, is it also helpful to complete the turtorial at Codeacademy?

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

yes it will show you the concepts behind it

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

Is there some link to a download mirror of an Game Program.

Besides can I do this at a Acer Aspire One 522

CPU: AMD Dual Core Processor C60
with Turbo CORE Technology up to 1.333 GHz

RAM: 1GB DDR3

or is a Dual Core 2 Processor better or a Dual Core i5 Processor?

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

I think its safe to say most form of game creation is out of the picture with the specs although you can still get away with basic programming. I recommend an major upgrade the first chance you get

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

I'm now using my Acer Aspire One 522.

I can use my PC with Dual Core 2 or my Asus K73S with Dual Core i5.

But where you guys download that Java program?

Feb 15 2014 Anchor

I allways prefer to work wtih programs like Unity - Cry engine 3 etc.I think that is a part of my answer.

and i have 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GTX 770 - 1 TB 72000 RPM -I5 4670K - ASUS Z-87 A so i can run every program and there isnt any java program i guess..
