Hello there, as the title suggests, I am looking to create a horror game, pretty simple. I, however, lack the ability and skill needed to program, model and create a truly terrifying game.

I am looking for people who, much like myself, are looking to get into or back into game design.

I have several Ideas of games to make and I understand there is plenty more to making games than just that. If you can; Program, Model, Animate, Script/Code or anything else related to video games please send me a message.

As the Title says there is no pay up front. However, should this make money you will definitely be given a fair share.

Or feel free to Email
Daxabyte@gmail.com if you are interested,

Thank you for your time.

So other people do 3D and programming and you do what? Idea-making?

I'm looking for help to make a game, I never claimed I could make anything, if you don't want to help no one is forcing you too.

You do realize that there are a ton of similiar threads like this? Writers, game designers and story-tellers who wants a team to just join them and do all the hard labor.

So go Complain to them. I never once said I was the first person to think about this.

I didn't ask you for your opinion, I know exactly what I'm asking for and there are a lot of people out there that know one aspect of game design but can't do others.
You do realize that Shigeru Miyamoto also started out like this right? He had no experience in game design but created some of the most influential games of all time. So why not go point out the flaw in his design. I'm here to ask people for help, not ask if my approach is "Up to your standards"
Allow me to give you an example of what you did.
Let's say I go into a kitchen at a friends house and ask if anyone can help me get to/find some chips, because I would like some chips you see. I say I don't know where they are and would like some, I won't eat them all and anyone can have some of the chips.
Suddenly you walk into the room and say "Oh you want someone to bring you some chips, open the bag, feed them to you? so you are what, chip eater?"
See all i wanted to to find some people, and possibly become friends, and to make a game with them, not make them make a game for me, make a game with them, or in the stories case, eat some chips with them. Maybe they would be willing to offer unto me some of their chip eating secrets that would improve my life, in return I would help anyone to help me in any way I can. Be it Stories, Voice Acting, Writing, anything I can do to help them in thanks for helping me.
And as for the baby thing, I don't think a baby would reply with anything other than direct insults to you, making very aggressive response, The most "aggressive" I've been is If you don't want to be here because you don't like the idea, then don't be here. I'm not asking you to keep coming back to my thread, I never asked you to tell me "hey dose my request sound up to your liking?" I simply put out a request to the kind people of this site.
and if you want to get on someones attitude let's talk about your "Approach to this" You could have easily just come on and said something like, "Hey man, Just a heads up, to me, it sounds like you are trying to get everyone to do your work for you, I don't know if that's where you're coming from but that's the implication I got."
I would have seen that and said "Oh hey I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone would get that implication, I really want to work WITH people to make a game, not have anyone work FOR me. Thanks for the tip."

You post a thread on a forum so yeah: you are kinda asking for people´s opinions - which includes me - and thats the whole idea of forums.
As for your ridiculus metaphor, you forgot the part about how you don´t know anything about chip finding and want everyone else to do the work for you.
Miyamoto got a degree in industrial design, intending to become a professional manga artist before he entered the game industry (ie: he has an art degree). That you compare yourself to him is just ridiculus. Also, he didn´t go around asking people to do the job for him - he got employed by Nintendo (for showcasing damn good toy ideas). And this is exactly the point I want to get:
No one is going to join your project unless you can show others how you will contribute - which you so far have failed to do. Instead all you´ve done is going into defensive mode and acting immaturly.

I'm done arguing with someone who refuses to acknowledge the points I am actually making and disregarding them.

Nightshade does make a valid point. The purpose of a group is so each member can fill in where the other members falter. Being a group's dedicated game designer isn't a problem itself, but most self proclaimed "game designers" are about as good as any other game developer. So what it comes down to is: do you actually KNOW more about game design than the average person? Do you know enough about game design to have pulled your own weight and earned your place in the group? Remember, programmers and artists spend great deals of time learning their craft, and will spend another great deal of time making this game.
