I'm working on a little project at the moment, and need some assistance. I need a couple of songs that are mostly without vocals (that would be preferred) from older eras - say from the 20s to the 50s. To understand what I am saying, take a look at this example: The song that plays in this flash animation at this webpage - Click Here - is from the Evil Dead film. It's a great little ditty which is out of place so much in the scene, and is so catchy that it really becomes hilarious while watching.

Any songs that you've come across that are similar to this would be greatly appreciated.

The Ink Spots - Maybe and that blues song from the Fallout soundtrack are pretty cool...

Also, Fallout references the old safety song 'Duck and Cover', but didn't include the actual song. You can get the song however on some Quake mod (I think it was called Nike)

The blues song from Fallout 2 is "A Kiss to Build a Dream on" by Louis Armstrong (I'm a big fan of him), which I already have among others ;)

I was looking more for songs like the one from the example, which are catchy little ditties with no lyrics. Suitable for say, elevator music :D

Yeah, Fallout series have a lot of excellent old music.. In first Fallout, there was a theme song called "Maybe", but I can't remember the author :(.

And yes, Kiss to Build a Dream On is one of my personal favourite oldies :D

"Fly Me to the Moon" by the one and only Frank Sinatra.

I think the Q2 standalone Barista 2 had some funky elevator music :D

Try the song "Push it to the Limit" from the Scarface soundtrack.. It was made a little later, but sounds just like an uber-catchy 50's song..

It has lyrics, and its not from the 50's, but Will Young's "Beyond the Sea" is an excellent Sinatra-esque tune. I was pleased to hear it end up in the Matchstick men soundtrack.

Sorry I can't really help you too much. I love 50's music but most of it has vocals (perry como and the like...), so try to find some big band or jazz. thats what your looking for.
