List of Free Games Thread

Id just like to point out here, that dofus is not completely free, without paying a subscription you only have access to the first area of the game.

It can also annihilate a high end machine if you turn all the settings right up - fun !

I just noticed something. Shadowbane and Anarchy Online arnt on this list. :-/

Description: A futuristic MMO that focuses on combat. I will say that it gets repetative having to fight for your XP, but some of the enemy designs are pretty neat and inspired. Weapons range from plasma rifles to daggers, and magic is handled as "Nanotech". The base client is free, and now comes with the Notum Wars expansion, which focuses heavily on PvP. Characters are defined as a class, and most of the time you'll want to stick to a certain way of building them. Players also have four races to choose from, each suited for a different group of classes.

Description: A not so futuristic MMO that everyone probably remembers. I think its main draw is its Epic PvP stuff; siege engines and whatnot. Gaining XP revolved around fighting, last time I checked, though there may be other ways. Players are also able to build their own cities and such (something you can only do with the Alien Invasion expansion for Anarchy Online- the one you have to pay for), but I never really ran across any player-controlled areas. Character creation is robust to say the least, with many different starting races. You can also choose your character's perks and, I think, starting weapons. Its a solid game though, I'll give it that.

Both games are several hundred MB in size, and Shadowbane requires a CD key last time I checked (you can get one for free). Anarchy Online is good until 2008, but they've been saying that since 2005ish.

Use arrows to drive and space to handbrake.
Use the W to shoot, the guy will aim automatically the nearest zombie.
Try not to let the zombies conquer your car.

Me too. We have something in common. I tried it few months ago. Though it was fun to throw a car at the others and run so fast that you dragged stuff around along with you.

It is nice that this thread is still (somewhat) alive... but for the 5 days now i play Rappelz (http://rappelz.gpotato.com) it seems i can't get off it (except for the nature needs like food, play, sleep, play, play, play... you can understand now what i mean ), you can find some good people there, form parties and gather required job (skill) points faster than soloing it in order to get some more "uber" 5ki11lz... anyway, wow like graphic, wow liek gameplay, and a really good community (like here too). So if it is good, why not make it better? I've posted this here to ask does anyone else plays this game, or is someone interested in playing this (who knows, maybe even forming moddb guild, first from members here, later from other non-moddb people)...

P.S. I'm aware that this bragging can lead to me being flamed (so i beg you, hold your flamethrowers), but I'm just excited about this game and i rarely get excited about anything (things that excite me can be counted on the fingers of all 3 hands of the Marsian predator ). Therefore, thank you in advance for your understanding. Also if someone thinks i'm saying that ppl there are better than here well here are some good qualities and also there are some good qualities...

I've seen a giant list of free games, mostly MMORPGs on a MMORPG forum. Tbh 99.9% are worthless, you just play and play to get bored before reaching the max lvls, or you play till the end and get fed up with the cheaters, exploiters, ppl who call themselves leet.

Lol, I remember one of my friends playing that game.
He had a cracked copy without sound, so when he compleated the game there were like 5 min of unhearable dialouge, and then it just stopped.
He was so mad that he wrote a song about how much Prince of Persia sucked.

The UT3 Ageia package is indeed moddable, and you indeed need the PPU.
