Hey guys! I've been inactive for some time, lots of things has happened. For starters: I learned Sandbox 2 (CryEngine 2 Editor), and I'm still learning. Here's one of my recent projects, please tell me what you think, some constructive crit could come in handy! It's quite a large map (although the playing area is not huge), with rain particles, grass fields, spots of rainforest and some thirty koreans with guns. I was thinking, as I am in charge of a Crysis mod an all, it might be good to know what I'm dealing with, and maybe even contribute |

Looking good! Beware endless patches of even grass though, they look artifical and odd. This one is bad: while this one is much better, as there's different bits of vegetation mixed in there to break up the repetitiveness The only other thing that jumped out at me as strange was the rocks in the middle of the grass fields. If you look at stones or buildings in real life that have plants growing right to their bases, the plants grow taller close to the stone/bricks where they are sheltered from the wind. Without those taller plants, the outcrops of rock look fake. But take heart that I am picking up on little bits of polish rather than huge problems. It means you are doing well, and haven't got much further to go -- "lets say Portal is a puzzle game, so its a rehash of Tetris" |
