Hey, I'm looking for buying a new LCD Monitor, and right now I've got my eyes on the Samsung Syncmaster 730B or the 930B. I'd rather get the 930B. I'm mainly gonna use the monitor for gaming and such, so I'm looking a monitor with a low response time. Does anyone have any suggestions? -- |_( hp )¯| p00nst3r |

Its not the monitor you use, its the person that plays. I have used CRT and LCD for gaming, and I havent noticed a difference at all. Anyhow, I have a LG Flatron Slim 15" and it seems to work quite well... Edited by (in order): Spector, Spector -- snetErz.com - Web Design |

As opposed to? Plasma screens filled with color blurs? Flat screen aperature grill CRT's are still some of the best gaming machines you can buy. |

if you really want to go with lcd, i'd get an Eizo. They are by far the best (colors are very crisp) and also have a pretty low response time. They cost a little more, butif you want a really good monitor i'd suggest you go with that brand. -- OMG it's teh Raaaaammmbooo!!! |

Yeah, I'll probably have to agree with the CRT. The image just seems alot more crisp and clear to me. -- "If this were the USSR, you'd have my gun barrel down your throat, maggot!" |

the only bad thing i dont like about a CRT is the eye strain. but i dont mind the space it takes up. eizo's lcd mons hv a pretty high response time. Edited by: -hp- -- |_( hp )¯| p00nst3r |

If you get a CRT, do not get a fishbowl. Anything above 1024x768 will destroy your eyes as you try to discern text. Get a flatscreen. --

fishbowl? ya ive noticed on mine that when i go into 1280x1024 ITS REALLY BLURRY. my parents want an LCD cause of the clear text. well what model of LCD should i get? -- |_( hp )¯| p00nst3r |

the LG Flatron Slim series I have, comes with a low response time of 12ms, and if you get the larger ones it goes down to 8ms, if your looking for low response times, I do fine wih this monitor on gaming. Lge.com is the site. Edited by: Spector -- snetErz.com - Web Design |

I have a Samtron Dynaflat (crt), really cheap and the best I've seen, if you're not really really picky. -- / ZaphodiLe |

As far as I've understood the development on LCDs has really gone forward the recent years, they are far from what they where when they first came. I've got a 15" LCD on my laptop (HP nx6110 I think it's called) and there is no difference whatsoever in terms of quality when playing games such as Quake 3 (wich I play alot). Sure, it's not the same as a CRT, but the difference is so small, so small. I'm currently on a gigantic 17" monster CRT, but when I buy a new one I'm going for an LCD. -- //toe - Moddb.com |
