Jungle Mist Website Thread

Hey, just wanted everyone's opinion on the new Jungle Mist website at www.junglemistmod.com It's quite a step up from the previous one. Please leave criticism and comments if you look at it. Also if you have any suggestions as to how to improve the website, feel free to let us know. Thanks.

OK, some comments from a webdesigner .

First, I love it. Nice color picks, well done header, good idea on light news background (but you might try removing the inner shadow from the font in the header, looks very generic... or maybe try playing around with default blending settings) - very, very nice.

You could try adding a light interlace effect to thumbnails in news (define a transparent pattern with one dot and one free pixel and then brush), would look nicer I think.

The gray M16 on the top right (near the logo) doesn't really look well, I'd prefer it being light green & stroked with some darker green.

9/10, keep up the good job.

It's a pretty nice site. I like the colors chosen for the layout. I can get to everything off the main site, so that's some well-done navigation as well.

8/10, for it looks like it still needs some work (And plus, you'll obviously get better after a beta release of your mod).

Thanks for the constructive criticism. You're right - I'm not completely done with it yet - there are still several pages to complete and add as content becomes available from the mod team.

As for the header text, I'll play with it some more - to see if I can get a more powerful effect. Actually removing the inner shadow made it look less pronounced.

Fact that I kinda painted myslef into a corner color wise - there's only so much you can do with green. But I'll come up with something.

Just a question - is that a custom job or based off a premade CMS because it looks mint.

The core CMS is postnuke. I see little sense in rewriting something that has already been done well. It's kinda like re-inventing the wheel. Postnuke offered all the features we needed for this site - and I added some self-written custom modules.

The theme is a custom job I made from scratch using photoshop.
