Hey there!

Me and two friends are working on a game concept of a 2d platfomer fighting game with RPG elements and Aztec inspired pixel art that we call Project Eztic.

Project Eztic is a hack'n'slash fighting platformer RPG in which you start as a slave, and a sacrifice, forced to fight for your survival in arenas devoted to the Gods of death and violence. As you defeat the opponents your value rises, and as is does you are granted new equipment and are sent off to more spectacular arenas to fight even greater challenges in.

But you cannot forget your true enemy! The ones responsible for all the death, violence and sadness...

Pray that you one day become strong enough to defeat them!

The game will play similar to famous titles such as Super Smash Bros. or Rivals of the Aether, but you'll see a lot more blood and you do not win by knocking the opponent out of the screen but by executing them. You execute an enemy by catching it off guard or by first wearing out its stamina and then landing a blow when it is unable to defend itself. If you know your enemy well, or if you are not careful... A battle may be over in an instant!

Is this an interesting concept?

We have a demo for the visual part of the character creation, if you want to try it out you can download it here:

Do you think it is possible to combine the genres platformer and fighting game with a high amount of character customization both regarding the looks and the abilities of the character?

Thank you for your time!

Hmmm.... sounds like regular fighting game. It might be frustrating if you get killed quick but might be fun if you kill your opponent quick :)

Only if the customization give some effect to either attack, defense or other stats. Otherwise, player will only customize out of boredom instead of for the game itself
