How to start on moddb Thread

Hello,

I've just made an account on this website and read a few of the website's tutorials, and I'm wondering on how to get started in mod development. I'm a PROGRAMMER, have little skills in other roles, and have no experience in creating mods, but I'm willing to learn them if given the chance.

My programming experience is C++ and Java, but only at a basic level.

Should I start by first trying to find a position in another mod developer's team and learn from there, should I start on something different before going into a team, and what are techniques I would need know for programming?

Join another team, If you have no experience in mod making, its probably best you contribute how you can, you will learn more and not have to worry about all the other design choices when starting a mod.
