I bet a lot of Developers have had this problem. I have friends who have been testing my game irl, but they aren't skilled in the platforming/side-scrolling genre. I've had some others who have tested it who are better, but I need way more than just two people before I can really fix up any mistakes I might have missed.

Problem is, I've been trying to send the news to my Beta everywhere, and while it gets a lot of views, NO ONE is giving feedback. There are a few downloads, but I still have no feedback. I've been all over twitter and other forums and nothing is really happening. I don't want to post this game on Greenlight yet or send it to some youtubers because I want the Demo as polished as possible before doing that.

There game is right here for testing: Indiedb.com

Have any of you had an experience like this? Do you know a good way to get more people to test your games?

Hey there. Sorry to hear about your lack of Beta testers. I'll beta test your game ^^ I'm just your average gamer bird, but I like to think I do a pretty good job of offering suggestions on things.

As for suggestions- meh. The BIG thing is that there is an overflux of games that are constantly coming out. It's very easy to be drowned out by other games, and while forums are normally good places to find people to beta-test demos, it can still be troublesome to find people at times.

I suppose you could try to offer some kind of incentive to entice people into playing your game, like having their name in the credits or something like that. Might could work. I'll try out your game now though and message you later with my thoughts on it^^

Yeah I had forgotten about an incentive. Unfortunately, it sucks when you have little to no money to give. Oh well.

Pretty new here on indiedb, and forums attract me like a moth to light, so first off, hello, first person I've talked to!
Second, I got most of my beta testers by posting a screenshot of the game on imgur with the title "Making a game, need testers" I got 2 in 15 minutes.
Third, if you'd like, I can try your game (if it's for windows or mac).

Hey! You can try going to local Universities and asking people to test your game there! :D

Reach out to your local school boards and look for focus groups, or tweet and see how much interest there is

I'll take a stab at it.
