Hi all,

I am a beginner to Hammer and am just learning the ropes now and making my first level map.
I am making my props in Max and importing them into Hammer (converting to SMDs then into MDLs with GUIstudioMDL compiler) everything works fine, the models come up in Hammer no problem and all the textures are there, the only problem I have noticed is that any tiling of the textures I have done in Max does not seem to be carrying over into Hammer...
eg - If I map a texture onto an object and tile it 4 (4.0) times, it will appear correctly in Max, once I open it in hammer, the texture is no longer tiled and is instead stretched over the textured polygon (exactly how it would look if tiling was just set to 1.0).
Is there a way to retain the tiling settings when converting them into mdl files?
The method I am using to texture is simply adding the VTFs as bitmaps in the diffuse slot, and applying texture to the relevant polygons (as shown in the tutorial linked above).

I have screenshots but it wont let me link to them as I am a new member!

I am using Max 2010, Photoshop 7, GUIstudioMDL, VTFEdit and Hammer.

If anyone knows how to resolve this problem I would be very grateful to hear how to do it!

Thanks in advance.

It will not take the tiled texture over with it in to Hammer from 3d max what i would suggest is tile it in psd  it would be easier and im sure it works.  Here is a tutorial of how to do it Game-artist.net
