Hello.. I just began to make my half life mod, but the problem is, i have no idea where to start... What i mainly need to know is, just HOW do i edit the code of it, and set it up to run... I know this is not too clear an explanation, but i'll prolly inform more a bit later when i figure out what to say .. But for know, anyone got some stuff on how to start? |

What's with all the engine changes? Those are lame moves without reason but graphics, and HL has bad gfx. Stick to quake. I won't help people who change their mind too much. -- < insert subject games here >

First off cheap, this is for a totally different mod altogether. this is NOT Minions of Darkshadow, thats still doom 3. I am now making another mod for half life, and quake 1 is out of the question. Im done with q1. ive worked on it for 5 years, and i am ready to move out and see what other mod oppurtunities are out there. As for starting the mod, what i mean is mainly just getting some thought of it together.. i would like to begin the code today, but i need to know just HOW to code it.. lol... |

If you're done with Q1, then you suck. Nobody can be done with Q1, it is immortal. So you want to be a Chazz? Go for it. Be banned at Inside3D, I don't care. Frik's been modding this game longer than you have and he is never sick of it. Hmm.... nice speech... well, not really.... I have my erasons of leaving q1. Im tried of it, and i want to move to other games.. Im sorry if you get mad at ppl wanting a change in their life routine, but tough... Now, does anyone have a helpful post that actually has to do with the subject?? Oh, and btw cheap, i would like to know, why do you even CARE what i do?! well, i got the complete SDK, the problem i have is WHERE to code... i mean, i got a bunch o' folders of source scattered about, and im just not sure where to start.... I'd really like to get this going today, cause im quite eager about a half-life mod... this was one of the games i planned on modding, but i got tied into quake... |

Hey man, i didn't taunt with crap really... i got hardly any feedback on the thing, most of it negative, so also i decided to try something else... And i don't know HOW many times ive said this though, but there is a good chance i will return to quake 1... At least, for that mod, not for good... and thats if my doom 3 mod does not work out, and so far, its looking bleak... lol.. As for me half-life mod, having trouble with that, butt hats definetly NOT quake 1, cause im gonna at least TRY another game out there... But remember, i DID say i might return, so ya never know... But id like some doom 3 or half-life 2 work, so then my work is played and not ignored by most.. |

Because you always attempt to pimp it in every one of your posts at i3d. It humiliates you and turns most off. Plus, you completely shut off my critisism on "your" models claiming that it would look much better animated, as an excuse for everything. Do you think that makes you look "cool"? I don't think so. Modding HL would be more hell if you can't take crits like that and make changes. And as for getting started, you're supposedly a coder, and asking us to hold your hand is not a good thing to do for the person who constantly switches engines. -- < insert subject games here >

Hahahah! You see, THIS is what holds me out of quake 1 too... LOL... First off, i never tried to pimp in every post... As for my models, i relize they mainly suck... Umm, did ya just kinda turn your head away when i mention that? Also when i said i need a modeler cause i have no skill at modeling, did ya just kinda blank-out those lines in your mind? Looks like it to me... And as for being a coder goes, LOL! Once again, you fail to listen.... You only seem to read what you want and interpret in your own maner.... I have only truly coded for a bit over a year now, teaching myself most of the way... i hardly know anything on coding, and i never made the claim to being a coder... If you look back at my mod recruit topic, you would see im recruiting coders, because i also say there, i am NOT GOOD AT IT!! I suggest next time you fully read a post of someones BEFORE you comment on it... |

Uhm, on the contrary, you fail to listen. You say you can code anything in JakeQuake and your mod, and look now, you make excuses.
