I would post this in the comments section, but since no one reads those, evidently...
Many of the HL2 mods I've tried simply don't show up in the Steam Games list. 2 examples for me are Mudkip and Rocket Crowbar: Source. Am I installing it wrong, or am I just mistaken? I extract/install it to steamapps/Source_Mods, but they didn't show up. Is there something I've overlooked?

No need to be a smart arse, remember who the one asking for help is.

Are your mods in their own subfolder in the SourceMods directory?

The correct directory is SteamApps/Sourcemods.

Sorry bout that, but it just seemed like a really obvious answer. Um, yes, they are in their own subdirectory, and they are in Steamapps/Sourcemods.

Check the directory structure is correct, for example if you extracted a file called mymod.zip it could have done something like this:

SteamApps/Sourcemods/mymod/mymod/[mod files]

Where you infact want the mod files to be in SteamApps/Sourcemods/mymod/ (there should be a gameinfo.txt in this directory).

That's my guess as to what you've done wrong anyway.
