Before i get into detail about this mod idea, ill just let you know that i will map for it... just need coders, and definately some modelers! Well, there aren't that many HL2 mods that are futuristicly good (i know there are lots of them, but quite frankly, i think they might suck). I just want to be apart of a great futuristic mod, kinda like a Halo/2 Experience. Now, this is *NOT* going to be a copy of halo, nor the maps, nor the weapons. We'll come up with some ideas, and some sketches and stuff to get things sorted out. I want to be creative, and let our mod have their own types of weapons, never even seen before. Hmmmm... im thinking of a name for this mod.. Concept This isn't going to be a planet-like mod, where you go play on mars, and die of suffucation lol. This is going to be based on earth, around year 2080. I know, thats a while from now, but i mean, we can basically make up our own stuff, instead of trying to make an exact replica of something, to make it look nice. This is the future! I'll make more of a story later, but for now, i just want to post this a general image of this mod. Game Types CTF Classic - Just your average CTF game. It's basically in every futuristic mod known to man. (Halo, UT2004, Halo2, Red Faction II, etc..) Siege (King of the Hill-like) - Basically, a team-based KoH action. 2 Teams start on opposite sides of the map, rush to the big fortress, or building, or factory (w/e the map has), in the middle of the map, and the team with the most points win (with timer). Now, the points are going to be earned WHILE your'e in the area of defense. If you kill people outside of the defense area, you get no points, but get rewards (ill go in to that later). But, the timer starts right when the team gets in the targetted defense post. Most points, from the timer, wins. Last Man Standing - A Brutal War, no teams, just a deathmatch, for a short timer. When player is killed, he/she has to sit out till the timer has gone away. (the timer wont be long, the most will be voted on our forums if we do happen to make this mod.) Last Men/Team Standing - A Crazy Bloody war, teams, team deathmatch last men standing. Same rules. Based on Counter-Strike's way of playing (die, and wait till the round ends) DeathMatch Classic - Well, what is there much to say? I think it explains itself TDM (Team DeathMatch) - Same as above, just team-based points. Kinda like Last Team Standing, just dont have to wait to spawn back in when the round is over. ReSpawns Territories - Team-Based strategy. The maps of territory, will be based on like DoD's way of capturing the flag points, where 2 people (or more), have to hold down an area, to maintain to capture it. Well, in territory, there are 10 areas, which the teams must hold down. There will be a choice of timer or not, depends on the user. If timer, the team with the most territories taken, CURRENTLY, wins. What i mean by currently is, the points don't matter, its just what you have NOW, to win. (Also, killing will just score individual points.) More will be added, im still thinking You guys can post what ever kinda game play ideas you want! Rewards Now, ive been talking about "Rewards", and this is what i mean. Don't you hate when your playing some type of game, and you are basically a "one man team", doing all the work, and you still lose, cuz of your sorry team? Well, rewards will help you achieve victory. Look Below: Stayed Alive Longest Reward: +10 Points (Individually AND goes to your team's overall score. Rewards can also be multi-earned.) Melee'd Someone: +5 (Per Person) Features o Able to kick weapon out of another players hands. -------------- Well thats all i have for now.. compliment, contact me about this, or come up with ideas of your own! Also, try to make up a title, i cant think of anything except "Ulterior Combat" Ulterior, means futuristic Hope you guys get interested! Edited by: Stallion001 |

Well, i dont intend to be the leader, i want to be known in the credits for the story that im making, and mapping.. quite frankly, i dont care whos the leader, as long as they are 18+ years old, and have knowledge of HL2 SDK Stuff, they need to be loyal and trusty too.. i dont want a one week quitter... But anyway, lets stay on topic, post some comments, or ideas plz |

Why do you need to be older than 18 to be a mod leader? I mean, I'm only 16, and I head up TMP. My coder is 17 and he's the coder, and my co-leader is also 16. Just because they're older than 18 doesn't make them better. You'll find some really good leaders who are still teenagers -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

FOR me? Err.. you mean *WITH me... im not going anywhere.. And to Karuto... Well, i mean... Of course there are many many teenagers out there who can model, map, (and i guess code), but i mean, i want a mature team... Not just SKILL, attitude is important too... BTW, ive come up with a few sketches of weapons... and yes i can draw... I can scan my drawings at my friends house, a block from here But yes, im serious in making this mod, its just the hard part, to find the people who are as serious as you are about this Edited by: Stallion001 |

Well, if you knew any of my friends who were older then 18, you would know that it doesn't mean anyone that age is considered mature They're more of the heavy drinking type that like to curse like sailors It'd be a good idea to post concept sketches ASAP, seeing as how it'd get people interested and bring their eyes off of your thread title (never compare your mod to a game when advertising your mod). -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |
