Hiring Musician Thread

Was hoping it wouldn't come to this, however unfortunatly it has. Didn't want to have to try hirin here, but i'm runnin outta choices.. Soo, down to buisness then..

Now, some my older friends on here may remember my old quake 1 mod, Minions of Darkshadow. Well, few months back me and shadowdragon teamed up into making it a commercial game. So far things are movin pretty smooth, but we need a musician.

Now yes, when i say hire i DO mean hire, as in for money. However, do to the fact this would of coruce be our first game and everything just startin out, i can't pay anyone on a money-for-song basis. Instead, to handle things right, you'll receive a certain percentage of money from each sale, depending upon of cource your work you do. However this is sorta meant also as a bit of a for-fun thing, so if it bottoms out, oh well, fun while it lasted. I'm not looking for someone who DEMANDS payment..

The types of songs will sorta vary, however nothing modern sounding. And i also would like someone dedicated to their work and actually wants to try to get work done and sold..

So basic run-down is I'm looking to hire someone for making songs for my game, payment will be received when the game is sold, no promises though, more or less for just soemthin extra then a mod. And must actually be dedicated to some degree.

Don't you have to get consent from the creators of the original game before you make a mod on their engine?I'd assume that's what'd have to happen because you're trying to go commercial instead of non-profit.You'd have to pay them royalties and such, no?

No, i bought the Torque game engine.. Same one used in Tribes 2. So this will be my game, no royalties of any kind, all mine.. Only catch is, i can't release engine source.. But no, this is my own game.. So when i release it, all you will be able to mod MY game.. lol

I don't really want to mod Tribes 2. It's a bit outdated. OT: Does the Torque engine come with all of Tribes 2's brilliant Net coding? if it did it might be worth it.

Sure does.. Althogh its not tribes 2, its the engine used for tribes 2 is all.... And soon the torque shader engine will be released for public purchase, and thats gonna be really nice..

Can you give a more detailed run down of the type of music you are looking for? Perhaps songs with a similar sound or at least a genre?

Mostly im lookin for somethin sorta with a classical music type sound, somethin that would fit a fantasy game.. And lookin mostly for pretty mild things, maybe occasionally a faster song here and there. But don't want any modern sounds to it all.. Ya know, like somethin ya could hear in a symphany or somethin, all instruments and good at setting the mood.
