So I've become intrigued to start getting into modding for the Source engine, I installed the SDK and opened hammer and when trying to create entities Hammer would crash when I tried to compile the World Model list! Does anybody know how to fix this?

Before you start hammer, reset the configuration and reload the content. If that did not fix then 99% it is the problem between your comp and it's compatibility with hammer.

Did you even make a map without leaks? Is the map sealed from the void? I recommend you read some tutorials on moddb. There are alot of good ones for starters.

How to use a hammer:

Place the nail, or whatever it is that you are trying to hammer down, on the surface to which you want it to attach (if you are using it solely to break an object, it is strongly suggested that you place the object on a hard surface, concrete for example). Hold the object in a firm grip, using the hand with which you do not use to write (if a nail, it is suggested that you hold the nail between the thumb and index finger). Hold the hammer in your other hand. Slowly raise it to shoulder-height. Aim carefully and swing the hammer downwards as hard as you find suitable (the harder you swipe, the further the nail will go per sweep). Be careful not to try and hit your hand during this procedure, as it will inflict great pain. I hope this guide comes to good use, and good luck using your hammer!

Also a helpful tip: Don't resurrect old topics!
