Hey all,
I want to try and create my first mod! I chose to use Half-Life because I have the game, and the code doesn't look too complicated.
I just have a question:
I have HL for Steam, but all the tutorials/screenshots I found for modding seem to use the HL from before Steam (Sierra version).
I'm wondering if this is a problem, and if it is, how can I mod HL for Steam?

Thanks!

He's asking about modding Half-Life, the valve wiki only covers Source as far as I know..

As far as modding for HL is concerned, you make the mods the same way regardless if they are made for the CD based version of Source version since both have the same directory structure etc..

Been there already... As Bytrix noticed, I was asking about HL, not HL2.

Oh, ok, thanks. I guess the problem I had at first was that I couldn't find my HL folder in the Steam folders :P I *think* I've found it now.

I would search for GoldSrc or Goldsource, that's the legacy HL1 engine I believe. The Valve wiki also covers some of it.
