Hammer Editor - How to select multiple vertices in Vertex-Mode Thread

For some reason this does not work for me. I hold down CTRL then select the area while in Vertex mode, but it does not select multiple vertices. I'm using Hammer editor version 3.5 and 4.1

Is there something else in Hammer that needs to be configured for this to work?

I am not sure what you mean, because Vertex mode means that you can draw (make) new brushes.
So i don't know what you mean with selecting a area but it does not select multiple vertices.

A brush (vertex) is made by pressing Ctrl+B, then draw the brush and press Enter.
Should you mean the clipping tool then that is Shift+X, but i assume that is not what you mean.

I work daily for about 7 years now with Hammer and have made quit a few mods with it so i
