Yeah, Bungie is a company that actually promises their release dates and delivers, unlike a certain company named Valve :P

Actually, they are smart by not precedenting a release date until the game is finished.

Yes, but Valve has already pulled in much, much cash through pre-September 30th 2003 preorders, and not to mention that HL2 coupon deal with ATI. From a business standpoint, they're bound to make more successful.

Also, at the risk of being flamed, let me say Halo 1 was crap :P

I didn't really like Halo SP, but the multiplayer was great. I love playing 16-player LAN parties with my friends, especially CTF Bloodgulch :D

Halo 2 is het al capwnage.

Oct 4 2004 Anchor

Yeah, I have to say, Halo 1 SP had a lot of repition and wasn't all too marvy, but the MP make it one of the best games on XBOX.

Oct 4 2004 Anchor

Halo is ok, but it is awsome on xbox. It just came out in the right time.

A game that made people want to buy an Xbox just to play it. That's what a lot of games should be like :P

halo is a mediocre attempt at a first person shooter

it is only praised because of its console nature, if it had came out for pc, and only pc, it would have flopped BIG time

it simply cant compete with things like.. the specialist.. or pain killer.. or Gore :D

so overall im not looking forward to "omgwtfbbq i can use twoguns!" *shoot shoot shoot **idiot crouch thing** shoot melee*

The Specialists isn't reatail, its a mod.

But even then its better than Halo 1! ^_^

It's a Wrap! Halo 2 Goes Gold

Blockbuster Ready to Ship Simultaneously to 27 Countries in Eight Languages
Microsoft Game Studios today announced that Halo® 2 for Xbox®, the most-anticipated video game of the year, has gone gold and will ship simultaneously over three days to 27 countries in eight languages. Halo 2 will be available on November 9 throughout North and South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The sequel to the award-winning Halo: Combat Evolved, will be available in France, Belgium and Switzerland on November 10, as well as in Japan and the rest of Europe on November 11. Halo 2 is being localized in eight languages including English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (traditional), Spanish, French, German and Italian.

In Halo 2, the action picks up where the first game ended. Master Chief, with the help of a small group of marines, has destroyed the religious artifact and artificial world known as Halo, and is making his way back to Earth. Upon arrival, he and the last surviving Earth forces will mount a titanic final struggle against the marauding Covenant armada.

Pushing the Xbox hardware to its very limits, Halo 2 will expand on everything that made the original game great, plus add a wealth of technological and gameplay advances. Significantly improved graphics, enhanced artificial intelligence (AI), an advanced real-time lighting engine and destructible interactive environments are just a small part of Halo 2’s evolution of design and technology. Every improvement in Halo 2 is designed to take gameplay to a new level -- and in the end, to tell a more compelling story.

Utilizing Xbox Live to redefine online play, Halo 2 will deliver superior online multiplayer capabilities. Whether playing with a clan on a new multiplayer map, boarding a friend's Warthog, dogfighting in Banshees or checking player stats, Halo 2 will bring the social experience to a higher level via Xbox Live. More information about Halo 2 is available at Halo2.com.

Bungie was founded in 1991 with two goals: to develop games that combine brilliant technology, beautiful art, intelligent stories and deep gameplay, and then sell enough of those games to achieve the real goal of total world domination. Over the past 10 years it produced games like the "Marathon Trilogy" and the first two "Myth" games, hailed as classics by critics and gamers around the world. "Halo: Combat Evolved," its latest game, has achieved phenomenal success on the Microsoft Xbox video game system. More information on Bungie can be found at Bungie.net.

To be honest, i'm not exited about halo 2's sp for some reason, i'm real exited about the xbox live capabilities though :D

Just gotta wait and see, man. I heard they overhauled the SP of this game, so maybe you'll all be pleasantly surprised :)

I thought Halo's SP was cool at the beginning, but slowly started to feel like a hassle, especially the Library level. I hope they stick with the more memorable level designs, and perhaps have it so you can't just switch to Expert (I forget the actual name of the mode) and play the last level quick and easy :)
