LOL. Firstly, you do realise that it was called the Cold War not because it was set in a cold region, but because there was no fighting? Good. Just making sure Secondly, it seems a bit bare bones at the moment, without any real concept to define it differently from all the other team-based ideas that are coming up everywhere now. Just a few extra features would do the trick. --

Hey, it's cool. I was just checking. You'd be surprised what some people believe. Especially when it's about Australia. NO! We do not ride around on Kangaroos. NO! We do not do anything else involving Kangaroos (and riding ). --

Sorry for derailing your thread with our international Australian issues Here's a tip: read "Red Storm Rising", a book by Tom Clancy. It's awesome, and is pretty much set in an environment the same as you described your mod idea. The more I think about it, the more similar the book and your idea seem. Such as being set in the Cold War, and a large battle taking place in Iceland (your artic setting). Here's a synopsis of the novel: "When the largest Russian fuel refinery is blown up by terrorists, the Soviets find that they have lost half of their fuel supply. They are sure that the United States will not let them buy any. They devise a plan to split NATO and then go take the fuel in the Gulf. They detonate a bomb and make it appear as if Germany is behind it. This causes all eyes to be on Germany. The Soviets then make their move and take an Air Force base in Iceland and further implementing their plan. The United States and NATO fight back in all arenas: land, sea and air." It truly is a great read. Anyway, back to the mod and gameplay. One thing you could try is instead of the same old weaponary that every mod seems to include, try some new ones. Instead of a US Desert Eagle handgun, include the Soviet Makarov PPM. AK-101 (Russia) --

Yeah, unique weapons are much better - so many of 'em are real cliches now - AK-47s and M16s are way too oversued. At Dh3 we used European weaponry that has just come into service or is about to come into service within the next couple of years. |

I like it, keep the artic theme and maybe exaggerate things a little (think Red Alert), and you may have a winner. |
