Electronic Poets are looking for someone hungry, ambitious and talented to work part-time (paid) as a graphic designer for a (top-secret) storytelling game.

This may be a little off-key for these forums, but I thought I'd take a shot. I'm building a browser-based game and I'm looking to start development on some quality branding for the website, game engine, and company profile. My game and requirements aren't typical - I need more of a web designer than a 2D/3D artist/animator. Despite my occasional leanings towards ostentation, it's an informal, open position, and I'm working in my spare time, too.

My project's about to kick in to a private closed alpha test with placeholder assets. It won't be too long before I want to shed the stock and start building a real visual identity. For that I need clean design, clear visual language, and a well-defined colour palette. A little further down the line I'll be exploring animations and transitions within the browser, looking for ways to transform the look & feel away from a web application and more like a game. Bonus points if you can bring experience of visual development in the browser.

I'm looking to build long-term relationships, people I can work with in the months and years down the line. I can't afford to pay salaries (yet), but I'm keen to pay contributors something for their time. It's just pocket money really, but also a token of good faith: this is a serious project and I'm willing to invest in it. I'm advocating a generous and charitable business model to back the game: rest assured that if you help me build a successful product, you will be well rewarded for it.

Applicants must be prepared to offer at least 10 hours a month, and be capable of clear and prompt communication. You must be prepared to accept criticism, and you should be able to bring your own ideas to the table. I'd prefer applicants to be over 18, but attitude and talent are more important to me than age and experience. If you've got both, then get in touch.

For more idea about what you're up against (with just a splash of ostentation) you can see my placeholder website at www.electronicpoets.co.uk

Enquiries to jobs at electronicpoets.co.uk, if you'd be so kind.

Thanks,

-Joe
