Any engines out there well suited for open world environments with a focus on driving, but not exclusively? I been kicking around another idea, not that I don't have them up to my neck already |

I would suggest either UT3 or Crysis. I'm not sure what you mean by exclusively because most games use vehicles "exclusively" Edited by: Toyoka |

I mean... Not like a racing sim, like GRID, Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, etc etc. I mean, as sort've a GTA style of gameplay where you can get in and out on will, but rather than traditional GTA games, I wondered if there was an engine out there that leaned more towards great car handling (like a racing game) but still allowed you to enter and exit the vehicle. |

UE3 would be a good choice. It has what you need in car physics and of course the ability to enter and exit the vehicle at will. UE3 also supports level streaming enabling you to make your worlds pretty large indeed! Personally speaking, if I were wanting to make a GTA style mod, I would definitely make UE3 my first choice of engine. |
