nice idea, but are those screenshots on the page from your own project ? if not i would suggest adding a disclaimer because its smells of plagiarism -- I want to make a mod like counter-strike but with more guns ,3 teams (maybe),and better gfx !!, |

Cool idea i guess..... are you just importing heavy music details, like suspence music and all when somethings around.. and action music when its getting exciting? I'm not sure what hl2 has doen as far as music... but it really makes the difference in gaming.... lol, i can't play doom thr....... i mean... two.... with the music on very often ------------------------edit haha, fox, i saw your sig.... who the hell said that?! - Edited By snowguy_2006 On Tue 6th, Jan 2004 @ 4:00:09pm |

Dynamic music isn't very common in mods, but is there anything OTHER than saying that the music will be good that you have to say? |

I just started the project but more info will be coming soon. The images that are currently online are from other games and that is mentioned in the media gallery. The mod isnt just special because it has dynamic music, it IS dynamic. It combines visual and audio in a way that it will get you in some sort of trance. The kind that you get when you rythm or music based game like Parappa The Rapper or Rez or Dance Dance Revolution. Half-life too will have dynamic music, Glitched To Death IS music. Its like watching a WinaAmp Visualisation on LSD while listening to a hypnotising loop from Underworld (who ironicly have a song called Rez...) |

Now I get why there isn't too much info about this :p |

Quake1 can also have dynamic music, Ww3 has it. -- < insert subject games here >

Glitched To Death is a mod, its just a Total Conversion that is totally different than other existing mods or TCs, that i know of at least. Thanks for all the interest |

P.S. Do you guys think it is possible to make a rail-shooter modes for a HL or HL2 mod? Rail-shooter=you automaticly fly (yes you will probably fly in G2D) forward, but you can aim and move up, down and left and right to some extend, like in Panzer dragoon or Rez, etc. |

Sure; make a map, have code that restricts the player's movement (such as forcing sv_maxspeed 0) and have him ride a little func_train. -- < insert subject games here >

it would be quite easy.. |
||
Jan 8 2004 Anchor | ||
Okay but if i set the sv_maxspeed to 0 the player wont be able to move at all in that direction, would he. Can i make the player automaticly move forward while he moves in a sort of invisible tunnel? |
||
Jan 9 2004 Anchor | ||
And if such an invisible tunnel was possible, would it be possible that monsters and other object could go through it? And would it be possible for the player to shoot monsters or objects through the invisible tunnel? |

Use the edit button instead of posting twice. If you just played with the code a bit, i'm sure you would be able to pull it off. The best idea would be for the character not to move at all, but just for the objects and monsters to fly towards you (making it seem like you are moving). But i'm not entireley sure if that would fit with what you are thinking of. |

The func_train option is the best, but you could also use a brush that sits behind the player and pushes them forwards, so that they cannot travel through them, however other object will. You can also create an invisible tunnel of brushes that restrict unwanted movement that projectiles and enemies can travel through. It shouldn't need too much modification to do so, just a good mapper. |
