I have a original boxed version of quake :D Kinda rare around these parts of my country xD

Bayonetta was just horrible :p not because i was offended by any of those things (don't rly care if they want to putt as much research as they did in some body parts) but the game was just boring and bad imo :p

Quote:Now... I wish I had gotten Nier instead... that game should actually be good.

No it is not, the intro is awesome. But as soon as it got to the free roam part, it lost all its charm to me

I know another one, don't know if anyone knows it: Kult
I didn't even got past the first level, it was that horrible xD was only 3€ so its not that big of a deal (didn't even bother returning it)

My dad bought that back during released, but never had time to install it on his PC. I've only played a few levels in, but I actually kinda like it (granted I also like the first Spider-Man movie game, which as very similar graphics and feel).

Play Spec Ops: The Line. No, seriously, play it. NOW! It's probably still on sale on Amazon for crying out loud! I wish more games had balls like this game does, paired with some of the best writing, mechanics, and level design that's been seen this side of linear shooters.

Empire Earth II: The worst RTS game I ever touched. Shitty lag caused by weather (even on a good compy), terrible mouse sync makes it hard to select individual units. Worst voice acting and most of all, crappy gameplay, unlike Rise of Nations, Empire Earth II economy system is pure fail and you're forced to expand your territory instead of focusing on civil development. I heard Empire Earth III failed so hard, Mad Doc got absorbed by Rockstar.

If you had a choice to choosing a good Civil RTS type game, I'd strongly recommend Rise of Nation over Empire Earth II
I regret wasting 25 bucks on this game...

My mom knew I wanted Spore...

She got me the special edition.

At least the art book and additional stuff kept me longer entertained than the rapidly finished game...

And space. Oh my gosh they make that the hardest part to do.

Easy pick for me. Cities XL

I expected a modernized version of sim city and got a log in screen I can't get past. I can get a 50% discount off the sequal, but why would I give them any more money. If I could un-buy a game, it would be that.

Half Life 2, utterly unimaginative gameplay and story. Took me 3 tries (over several years) to actually bother finish it. I wish I never had spend a penny on it, but I expected a good game from what Half Life 1 was.

Empire Total War... ...can't say much more. Medieval 2 = Brilliant. Rome = Brilliant.

Postal 2..if honestly ii torrented it and yet i really regret downloading that piece of sh*t, i played it like 20 min and thought: "woow, that is one stupid game" :D
sry if rude or so... (and i mean Postal 2 not Portal 2 xD Portal 2 is a awesome game! )

I actually do find some of the gameplay segments boring on my second play through (the AI is pathetic in comparison to F.E.A.R., or maybe even Halo). I do, however, enjoy the gravity gun. However, I see Half-Life 2 more as a well made canvas with which to expand upon.

I did enjoy the story for Half-Life 2, really just because I could believe some of the characters. That, and I didn't feel like I was just some isolated vigiliant in the middle of nowhere with no human contact beyond random encounters (which was how I felt when playing a friend's copy of Half-Life).

I think the point he's trying to make is that he regretted it that much, even though he didn't even buy it. I can understand the feeling. Last night I just tried the game trial for Borderlands on my PS3...

Within about 20 minutes, I quit it. The humor was dry as bone, and the gameplay felt older and clunkier than Star Wars: Dark Forces (lets also not forget the fact there are Claptraps involved...). I was gonna get it for cheap on my PC because it looked neat.. but my gosh was it just a piece of crap. What I've read about Alpha Protocol's combat, it sounds almost exactly the same, except I now am more curious to play Alpha Protocol. At least that one generally is noted for an interesting (if not sometimes silly) story.

Half-Life 2 indeed is not a good game. But in the end you don't buy HL2 for the game but for the mods. That said I felt isolated in a similar way than in HL. The interactions with people is the same just that the choreography tool allows for more animations and that your "fellow slaves" chant all the time the same repetitive phrase in your ear when the blocked "again" your path :D (Frohman somebody?).

I take it I'm the only person who liked Half Life 2, but wishes there was more combat?

One thing about Half Life 2 I like that I occationally notice the AI doing smart things I never notice in most games. For example, if there is only 1 guy left, and he's injured, he will try and hide. The way they can give each other names and point out distences ect.

I've never seen this. I have, however, seen Combine soldiers blindly stand and take bullets. The Hunters are the most intelligent enemies I've seen yet. The way they may discuss things is interesting but (I think I'm beating a dead horse here) F.E.A.R. does that just as well, and the A.I. attempt to flank you while you're behind cover.  Half-Life 2... I usually don't see anything more than maybe a grenade toss. the Combine depend a great deal on scripting and level guidance to get themselves where they need to go.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like more combat, I just want someone to fix some of the errors in logic. For example, I rarely ever see a need to use the Pistol in later levels, as often your enemy types that would die easily from it are already dead, and you're fighting bigger enemies that require the crossbow and combine assault rifle. Also, some more distinct weapons to be similar to the gravity gun would be nice (perhaps Valve should give Insomniac Games a call?).

That, and make the combat scenarios more diverse than "enemies you have to hide from", "enemies who stand in place as shot", and "enemies that are just annoying".

Generally everything else in Half-Life 2 is great, especially things like G-Man easter eggs, but it needs to feel different for me to warrant more than one or two playthroughs.

There's quite a difference between those liking the game and those buying it for the mods. I definitely know a lot more people that bought HL2 for the mods (me included) and didn't like the game itself much (some I know didn't even finish it as it bored them... after all they looked for mods).

I didn't say there wasn't a difference, but on that note I know of a lot more people who bought the game for the game, enjoyed it, are waiting for EP3/HL3, etc.
