Sonic 2 for Megadrive! I loved that when I was a kid. Golden Eye for 64 was fun too. SInce I didn't actually buy them I guess they don't count.

FFIX has a wonderful soundtrack that I always enjoy listening to. I also enjoyed one of the Ratchet and Clanks and KOTOR II.

I've got a new one: Deus Ex: Human Revolution (I honestly have almost no complaints about it.)

Also: Heavenly Sword, and hopefully soon Scary Girl.

I think there's not a single competitive twitch based FPS or RTS in PC gaming history that I regret buying as these kind of games exploit what computer mediated interaction is best at and where no superior alternatives exist: at providing unique, intense mental and motorical challenges without the risk of getting hurt or dieing for real.

Without repeating all of the obvious ones like half life, fallout etc I'd like to add:

Age of Empires 2 & The Conquerors expansion.
Sonic the Hedgehog 1+2 for SEGA Mega Drive
KOTOR 1+2 (yes I liked 2 as well but never had the emotional attachment to the characters as much as 1).
Jade Empire
Fable 1
Morrowind GOTY Edition
Metro 2033
Condemned

HL GOTY 4cd box (HL, OpFor, CS 1.0 and TF) for the equivalent of around 6 bucks back in 2002 (or similar); Project I.G.I 1 (immensly underrated and forgotten "sneakemup" that requires a quick brain to complete); Doom 3; SWAT 3 (so old it wont work properly under XP lol) and Return To Castle Wolfenstein

Far Cry, Wing Commander 1-3, Psychonauts, and Unreal Tournament 2k4. Got them all during the GoG Christmas sale.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (if I haven't said that already)

I'd include Kongregate's Flight if it weren't free.

So far expecting Syndicate to also be going on this list in the days to come.

Feb 23 2012, 6:22pm Anchor
  • All of the half-life games (including The Orange Box)
  • Mass Effect 1&2 (Still waiting for my pre-ordered ME3 CE)
  • TES IV: Oblivion and TES V: Skyrim
  • Silent Hill 2 for the PC (sadly it does not work due to it being a shitty port, had to pirate a good copy...!)
  • Left 4 Dead 1&2
  • Paper Mario

On the contrary I (sort of) regret buying Dragon Age 2, such a shame.
I'm just gonna go ahead and stop there, the list would be way too long..!

I agree with above, whole halo series including reach. reach was unique, like zelda 2. not bad, but diffrent, aiming for something new. and mass effect series, love it all, except the ending of 3.

-Sonic's ultimate Genesis collection
-Resident Evil 1/2/Nemisis  (both 4 and 5 are abominations)
-Chrono Trigger
-Dawn of War (not the sequel)
-Bushido Blade
-Killer Instinct
-Any Street Fighter if I buy it pre-owned  (I enjoy me some street fighter... just not at full price)
-Fat Princess
