Hello gamming comunity. Many of you maybe aware of the Total Conversion for Freelancer Freeworlds Tides of War 2.0 , I know...I waited almost 1 year and a half for it already but it's almost here. But this is not the reason for this post. Anyway, thank you for reading this and keep in mind, I do this not to outclass TOW 2.0...in any way, I only want a StarTrek mod with that level of quality for all trekkies.
After a Litle meeting, it has been decided to start slow. Comming up with a mod that is a total conversion is not easy so we are going to do it baby steps style. i wanted to create this mod a few years back and got sidetracked a bit. If you are still interested i would like to get involved. I have modding experience and have run many gamming servers. I also have a fair amount of knowledge of StarTrek. I used to play Starfleet Command wich is based on Starfleet Battles. I have a pretty clear idea of how weaponry should function. I believe models from that game could be converted / imported although my knowledge of ship building and creating the hardpoints is very limited. It would be great if there was a ship developer / importer, a systems developer, and a weapons developer. IMHO the addition of the means to capture systems as part of a conquest addon is paramount to the longevity of this mod. This way an ongoing dynamic campaign could always be in effect. I have worked on ideas that would enable this to be accomplished. However they require a restart of the server to convert the ownerships of objects. anyway... let me know |
