So, my computer has the graphics processing power of a heavily laiden snail, and the fact that I need to have finished a side-scrolling flash game in the next 14 hours doesn't really make that such a good thing.

My question is very simple. When you walk through this short little flash world:

...does the FPS drop anywhere? I need to know if there is a legitimate problem with my assets, or if my computer just sucks.

Thanks in advance. ;)

whah? I want to go to a school that has you make games for homework! Where are you?

And yes it does slow down at anyplace that involves scrolling or shooting

Hahahahah, I'm a New Media major (Informatics minor) at IUPUI, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

And, since you brought it up:

"Why should I go to IUPUI to learn to make games, instead of, say, Full Sail or Digipen?"

1) 1/10 the price.
2) Better faculty, from my experience vs. talking to FS/Digipen students.
3) Wider range of classes: don't just do games: do modeling, audio, coding, business...
4) Did I mention that it's 1/10 the price?
5) EVERYTHING is project based. Very few classes have homework, or even finals- you just work on projects, meet deadlines, and get graded on the finished product. ;)

The only complaint I have against IUPUI is that, since I've already been making games for a pretty good long while, without any formal education, a lot of what I'm being taught is, well... below me. I hate to sound egoistic, but I'm just letting you know: if you have game development experience, you might consider trying to test out of the intro level courses.

Yeah, okay- sounds about like mine. What are your specs?

specs are in my profile....i have a fairly high-end machine though. My guess is that its the background thats causing the problem...maybe simplify it?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking to, but I've tried simplifying it a ton, and I know I've played Flash games with heavier graphics... Ugh...

It's like graphical debugging. SUCK.

Anyway, thank you very much. ;)
