I came across this and found it quite informative. You may be familiar with this site, but for those who are not,It might be a good read (especially for those who are interested in optimizing game play, but might not know their system that well).
Tweakguides.com

I'd be curious to know if it was of any use to you.

Often used this site myself while modding FarCry as it discusses not only how to tweak the game`s graphics and speed but also its console commands... ;)

I been using it ever since FarCry came out.

And it was handy for STALKER too.

It would be insanely cool, if Moddb had a sticky for the very best sites in history. I could contribute some texturing and drawing and other tutorial sites. I'm sure we'd get a great collection done.

Perhaps this could be done in form of a group? Linkcollection of the most precious sites we know! (that would also mean I have something to fall back to, in case my PC crashes and I loose all my bookmarks).

Hurm, how about making a group dedicated for that kind of thing?

Now there's an idea that has some serious merit.ModDB members have all been going with the obvious appeal and benefits of gaining more informative and updated tutorials on many of the materials and tools that are (or would be) used on a daily basis for the tutorial section. The key problem is acquiring them legally or getting someone to write and post them.

Perhaps such a simple thing as an area with valid  staff and member posted links to the tutorials would be just as helpful  for now.Being that the tools, materials, etc. used are so diverse, members could post the reference links (after approval I imagine) and quickly build a fine reference link library for all to share.
