Otreum, are you sure you can not rotate tree's? I mean if the tree is a object, not part of the collective system, then you can just click the rotate button in the object tool under parameters. Oh sorry looks like I missed your map Looks like a bloody lot of effort went in to ge that right, now though I think you should start looking into making it a warzone, add some trees in the middle, make some parts ruined, add Liana reeds hanging down from parts of the sun, add some carnage and damaged parts of the colosuem to add more ways to enter the center. Cheers! You can rotate trees but not in the way that you can lay them down. Same with ladders, you can only rotate them down a certain distance in the direction that the ladder faces, but you cannot rotate them sideways due to how the ladder works. Thanks for your input on my map, lol. SniperGen, personally, I see nothing that's wrong with your map, I've run around it and it could be a pretty fun map, I didn't go around looking for flaws however, so i'm not sure about getting stuck on objects and so on. Thx Otreum, 1 download woohoo God I want to play my map, how fast do servers upload it or how does it work? How do you get recognition? 2 hours after I uploaded my map there are already 10 new maps that remove you from the most recent list. Bleh.

Ok! almost finished my map so i thought i would post some teaser pics, its for the Real World Landmarks Award and i have tried to make Hoover Dam as playable as i could so it has changed a bit Anyways! here it is so far! probably release the map in tonight or tomorow... Sorry about all the images :o but yea i had to sacrifice accuracy to the real thing for gameplay in some cases! dont kill me ;o! Snipergen: u might need to do some port forwarding! check the farcry 2 forums.. there is a sticky their for the pc port list. -- |

sexy razorb! Heres my first attempt at a farcry map.. Also in the Real World Landmarks catagory. I tried to make the map look like it wasnt set in africa (as stonehenge is in England) and i think i have done that pretty well heh. I hope my next map will surpass this one as i feel very comfortable with the interface now, thanks to ubisoft for making such a user friendly editor!
hope you like Edited by: XaKu |

I was wondering when someone would do the stonehenge since all that's requires are some rocks to be slapped down to look like the stonehenge. |

yer nice and easy for the first farcry map otreum i might be wrong but i thought i caught a slight bit of sarcasm in you message, tbh the farcry editor is so easy to use that any map you do is basically just a few things slapped down.. id prefer it if i could make my own props like i normally would as i use unreal ed alot, but i cant. I wanted to make my map look like it wasnt farcry as i think most of the maps so far are just a bunch of the farcry assets spammed all over the place without any imagination.. anyways im off to bed. Yup, I did a quick mockup of the stone henge last week but figured it was a bit boring to look at, so I scrapped it. Anyway. I just got back home and the bloodiest acre is getting rebuilt from scratch since it was too different to my reference material and I wanted to make it as close as possible to the real thing. |

My drawing board is blank, I've made plenty of maps. But go back to look at them and think, "this isn't gonna work" |

lol, well, put that brain to overdrive, not many days left now I just tried to do a near full interior of the colosseum, however It just doesn't work with it being so round and all the objects used being so straight. Making this into a gameplay map is a bit difficult as it's so massive in scale (it almost takes up the whole map SO, I think that this is going to end up being more for show than an actual playable map. I've already got my gladiatorial map for those who want to play a gladiator style arena anyway. |

Wow lots of progress in here! Stonehenge is pretty cool ^^ The Reel Room looks good too! razorb it would be cool if you could set off those pipes, in your top image, so they roll into enemies. Its always fun to crush enemies with massive pipes haha. Keep up the good work everyone Edited by: Bunnyjen |

Started work on my map. This is a map based off Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. This is for the Landmarks prize. It's still in it's early stages but I thought i'd post a sneak peak.

razorb: I always loved seeing hoover dam-based maps in games, whether they be official levels or user-created. Yours looks pretty dam nice, lol. However, I do have a small suggestion for you: I know you mentioned that you had to sacrifice(for the sake of gameplay) some of the dam's faithfulness to the real thing...... Now, I know that all of the the levels, no matter which category, will have "gameplay" as one of their scoring criteria. However, from looking over the rules it seems as though if you are entering into the "real-world location" category, you'll receive a higher overall score(and hence a better chance of winning), if you put gameplay as the last priority and make the level look as close a facsimilie to the actual hoover dam as possible. Yes, you may get a lower score in the gameplay department than you would've otherwise, but as I said, it appears the "real-world location" entries will be rated higher based on how accurately they depict the real McCoy. Just something you might want to think about. Whatever you decide to do with it, please post a link when you have finished this map.....I seriously can't wait to play it!! |

Hey admjg8! thanks alot for the comment but yea i dont see it like you do because after lookin at the 4 categories there is only 1 based on the visual side of things but 3 on gameplay
this is why i sacrifice accuracy of the thing for gameplay ya know ... i didnt sacrifice it to the point of not even seeing what the map was based on... but enough so its fun (i think! havent played with anyone!) also its hard to get it that accurate with the props we have without making it look completely ugly Bunnyjen yea it would! shame nothing like that is possible in fc2 Oh yea.... is there going to be a limit on the amount of maps you enter? as i can see that the Wat The ?£$% category is going to have a major spammage of Shitness and its going to be pretty painful for the judges to play through em properly ya know infact i can see it affecting the amount of time they spend on testing the oproper maps that ppl spent hours and hours on... but yea should be maximum of 3 maps or something keep it up everyone!
