All I can say about when it comes to game violence is "get over it", children who are violent are NOT inspired by games, a little guy in a green suit with a sword, shield and spells is FAR less dangerous than kids who get actual physical toys to swing around and so on. |

/Back on topic. lol the contest is over for over a month and you're somehow on topic now?! im finally pulling out skytropolis... but i need help, it's bugged or something, i dunno, but the damn map lags like a bitch for no apparent reason... im plopping down a few oc blocks and putting the spawn points down, then uploading it to ubi, but it sure as hell isnt done. like i said, it lags a lot for some reason... might be due to the elevation, i dont know. This isnt skytropolis though, mind you, skytropolis has a ton more buildings, rope bridges, and a shrine. Fc2 lags too much to handle skytropolis, which is just F-ed up cuz Battlefield 1942, where i first built it, ran the map smoothly. This is a nonexistant corner of skytropolis, after an apocalyptic uh... airquake. -- I am Redundant Jovian Thor. |

YAYA, well yes, anyway, your map looks fun, kinda reminds me of the game "dead island" that is being made by the same guys who made Call of Juarez, although, dead island is not released yet |

Ok I was just avoiding that debate, I never really was on topic anyway Oooh cool, Call of Juarez looked good from the demo, but apperently there was a lot more of the non gunfighting drivvle in full release so um ya. The sequel looks a lot better. Pure gun fighting apparently. About that map, I'll upload the new version tomorrow. a skytropolis screen. It might be due to the fact that the map is as long as it is, it might be due to the fact that it's so high up, it might be due to the fact that god hates me, but the map lags real bad for me. im going to either upload it to ubi or submit it to ModDb and let y'all pick it apart and see if it has any performance issues for anyone else. it's barren though, very few details at all, and the toppled buildings need ladders lol one or two of them have some ladders, but do your best to avoid falling into them, cuz the ones where there are no ladders, the only way out is to fall or nade suicide; death. I'll probably spruce up shantytropolis tonight as well, unless i get sucked into eagle's nest... -- I am Redundant Jovian Thor. |

Whoa, that discussion seemed pretty intense there for a second, but no worries, I can get pretty heated about certain issues too. None which I care to bring up here or now though. I don't wanna get the boot for anything which would only enrage me further. lol Anyways, if you guys are on, I'll jump on for a bit, but I've really been trying to get this next map off the ground so it'll be ready for prime time this weekend. I just figured out how to fine tweak the rotating angles of objects so I can get even more particular for no apparent reason. heh. Well I'd say my next map is about 90% done as I just have to fill it out with sensible cover and pretty details. Alright enough talk, time to blow off some steam for a bit. cya Nevermind, seems the server is empty right now. I'll probably just finish my map. I just wanted to say that I liked that new map by Zahl and Judo. The placement of diamonds and spawns make sense. I've been trying to offset those also for gameplay but my map layout isn't all that symetrical so it's a bit of a pain to balance out the teams. Almost done, was gonna post a picture but you'll just have to wait till tommorrow to see it. Don't wanna watch it sink before it sets sail. lol. jk, be gentle. I just completely remade what I wanted to do with farout bunker. Now that I'm a whole lot more efficient and wiser its going together pretty well. It seems there are so many good maps out there with great innovative ideas, it's tough to come up with new stuff. At least we're not stuck with stock maps. Alright, here I go talking too much again, next thing you know I'll start talking about zelda. |

usually a wooden pipe used for smoking tobacco, but it can be used for smoking other herbs. some people mix several herbs and smoke that. usually referring to a peace pipe indicates a hand made pipe. Puff, puff, pass! that's the rule! -- I am Redundant Jovian Thor. |

hope y'all got your copy of skytropolis wqhile you could, cuz it's updated now. Zahl, i will e mail you a copy if you want to lend a hand in finishing things up. i've got the paths mapped out, all that's left are correcting minor mishaps, details, and general gameplay optimization-which mostly consists of meticoulous placement of detail objects. she's almost done! That reminds me of an area is Far Cry 1, looks like it could be fun okayplayer, however I think after the moddb competition, I aquired a stronger taste for unusual maps, so the same old stock standard doesn't appeal much to me anymore. Which brings me to the next thing...i'm working on 2 maps right now, both are fairly basic visually (kinda like watch your step or pacman), however the aim was to make a strange play experience. The first map is just a big flat wall, and poking out of that wall is a mesh of girders which players will be fighting along. The 2nd map is called "Cube".... Screenshots will come soon. |

There are a couple more screens in my profile of the map, which by the way is named, peacekeeper. Definately not much stock about the map except a coulpe huts (well thats not true, it's mostly boxes). There is only one main base for APR with UFLL assaulting it so the UFLL diamond is up on a hill outside the base which I hope is balanced. Curious to find out how balanced so maybe see you all later, if I don't miss the map in rotation. Edited by: okayplayer |

Skytropolis has been updated and awaits approval, while it's been uploaded to the ubi server already. Zahl gave it a touch of life by adding a few more trees, some rocks below, and now the skytropolis is above water. If it's gonna be tested tonight, that would kick ass!

Yeah, I just updated peacekeeper1.2 just now. A few minor changes but should make gameplay more balanced. Just throwing a few boxes around for cover was pretty cheap object wise, but near the end I was still balancing that budget. If you said you were getting strange lag even well below budget, I was wondering if the lighting was hit hard since it is skytropolis. So using water instead helps that?
